I got this 2 weeks ago and it's been working great. I got it specifically to use it for hot pot but I find it really useful for boiling water or making soup. One down side of gas cooktop is that it takes forever to boil water so it's nice to take this out to save some time. The downside is that it does have a fan that's pretty noticeable, you'll definitely know it's running. I purchased from their eBay store and the item was shipped with a shipping label directly on the retail box. Luckily nothing is damaged.

I used my power meter and it's running just shy of 15amps and about 1700watts.

I got this 2 weeks ago and it's been working great. I got it specifically to use it for hot pot but I find it really useful for boiling water or making soup. One down side of gas cooktop is that it takes forever to boil water so it's nice to take this out to save some time. The downside is that it does have a fan that's pretty noticeable, you'll definitely know it's running. I purchased from their eBay store and the item was shipped with a shipping label directly on the retail box. Luckily nothing is damaged.

I used my power meter and it's running just shy of 15amps and about 1700watts.

Why not just say it, like standing next to a jet engine. Oh well, great for cooking and doesn't heat up the house like other method of cooking.

I've had this for a few weeks now and it's still a buy for me (for occasional use). The coil whine & fan noise are louder than I expected but not so much that I don't want to use it. It boils water/soup quick!

An oddity with my unit (not sure if its just me) is that the cooktop will turn itself back on after I turn it off (which also turns on the fans). I have to unplug it when we're done...

Are you sure it's actually turning on again? Mine just keeps the fan running after I shut it off until it's cooled down.

I have this cooktop and I believe this is the unit cooling itself down before turning off off. It eventually stops completely.

Exactly, it just runs the fan for 30 seconds before shutting down.

It's funny our house has induction cooktops with no gas and for hotpot we use a portable gas stove.

1700W definitely look at how the house is wired and do not overload the breaker.

had been isolating in a rented room...
this has been my daily work horse for the pandemic 2 years

i recommend it but make sure your pots are good. some conduct better/faster than others.

the timer helps for ramen and not burning other foods when I become distracted.
