What you should do is order it, and when it comes in, look at the ram stick installed. There will be a brand name, and a model number/part number for the RAM stick in there. Just Google that, and usually you can find someone on Ebay selling that exact same thing for very little money. That way you have a (somewhat) matched pair, but only have to buy one.

IMO:
Windows 10 is a plus at this time
SD and DVD drive are a plus
Here's a link to Acer for better info than eBay - https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/con....BH7AA.002
Yes, the 512GB storage is SSD of some kind, either SATA or NVMe.

You only need 1 additional stick. https://www.microcenter.com/produ...2A_-_Green [microcenter.com] No need to waste your money getting 2 sticks.
Thanks but there's no Microcenter where I live and shipping makes this 1 stick $45 vs. $55 for what I bought (and will be delivered tomorrow): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...=UTF8&th=1

Some people in this thread are saying that a GTX 1650 lp will work.

How small is that? This seems like an extremely small case to put something in.

I bought this off Amazon last night: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1

Not 100% sure but it says I can return for any reason.

This thread: https://community.acer.com/en/dis...nt_1050932
says that you need PC4-23400 and the one I bought is clearly PC4 25600.

I'm giving it a 80% chance of working.
Thanks !

I did some research before I bought one. It comes with 2 memory slots. From what the Acer forums were telling me....if you want to upgrade to 16GB they advise buying two sticks of 8GB RAM.

They said if I buy just one stick of 8GB RAM and attempt to use it side-by-side with the 8GB that's already installed—it could cause issues.

What I want to know:

1. Is the CPU upgradeable? And if so, what can I upgrade it to without having to buy an bigger power supply?

2. Are there better internal fan options that I can buy on Amazon that will provide better cooling?
Without seeing the support documentation, the general rule for OEM systems like this would be that the CPU would be upgradable, but with more restrictions on the total power supported (setting an upper limit to the CPU choices) as well as a choice of models also potentially being limited by BIOS support.

I wish there were some pictures of the internals. This board is most likely proprietary (with the front ports likely being integrated onto the motherboard). However, you could likely move this system into a cheap, roomier case facilitating easy swaps for fans.

You'd also want to examine the power supply connector, as one which is too proprietary would make this a hard pass unless you don't mind buying a sealed box. Of course, even as a sealed box this is about the most compelling price in some time.

Good luck!

Would this be much of an upgrade over a Ryzen 7-1700?

Thanks. After giving it some consideration, I'm just looking to upgrade the fan to keep internal temps down. I'm only planning on using this for Chrome/Zoom/etc and no high powered software/etc.

Also don't want to change the case—I like the small form factor.

I think this relatively new i5 and 16gb of DDR4 should hopefully be enough to make 10 open tabs of Chrome feel just as snappy as it does on my M1 Macbook Air.

I don't have this PC, so I can't verify, but the comments in the YouTube link below mentions the hdmi ports are 2.0b.

Another note. UHD 730 graphics itself is capable of 4k@60hz. I've had laptops that said hdmi 1.3 but were able to output 4k@60hz just fine because the chipset worked at 4k. Obviously, YMMV.

Edit: another note - seems the included fan may be pretty loud. Can replace it pretty easily. Above YT video comments has a link to a replacement fan if you are so inclined.
If anyone watched the above video, the guy says the internal fan sounds like a freight train.

He linked to this one as a replacement: https://www.ebay.com/itm/23325407...2749.l2649

One of the items of note is a poster says the computer uses the B560 chipset. Processors that are compatible with that chipset can be found here: https://www.intel.com/content/www...%20chipset

However, you'd need to make sure you got a processor that had the same power usage as the current processor, or do more research to see how much power would be available for a more power hungry processor. The power supply on this desktop doesn't have much so be careful.
Helpful as it confirms the motherboards proprietary footprint (though likely fine in a roomy enough ATX case) and the power connectors.

Look at two posts before yours for a link of the motherboard layout. There are the following ports on the inside: (1) m.2 for storage, (1) m.2 for wifi/Bluetooth, (3) sata ports, and (2) proprietary sata power cable ports. It appears that if you want (5) disks you would need to get into USB solutions (doesn't mean they have to be external).

I seriously doubt this case could hold (5) hdds without some extensive modification - would also likely need additional fans to keep those drives cool.
