Assume you need the base for the v2 outdoor cams? I have a bunch of v1/v2 indoor cams (no base). Thanks!

I see $68.99 plus $5.99 Shipping in the "Shop" section of the app. I'm a camplus user so don't know of there's a tiny discount with that or not.

EDIT: RTFM and saw that one does need the base Wink

Looks like the "bundle"(cam plus base) on Amazon is *not* coming with the basebased on all 4 reviews there, at least. Not sure if they're mistaking the multiple product listings.

Product aside, FWIW had crazy bad luck with Wyze direct shop where they ended up missing on delivering items to me and double(!) charging for some orders. YMMV but worth buying through Amazon even if there is some extra cost to it.

same. i really like my wyze stuff but try not to order directly from them if you can. their shop is not great at shipping the right stuff or on time.

Would be careful in using Wyze. They had a security hole that they knew about for 3 years and did nothing about. They didn't fix it and they didn't tell their customers about it. Extremely irresponsible.

I would operate under the assumption that all of these systems have security holes at all times, they almost certainly all do.

Buyer beware, V1 is essentially a live view cam only with no ability to scroll back for history despite having a micro SD slot and a base station with the a micro SD slot. I don't subscribe to their plus cam so maybe someone can update this but if the only way to access your camera's history is by pulling the micro SD card and plugging into a computer, this defeats the purpose for an outdoor camera. I don't see where they say V2 has changed this. The outdoor camera was easily the most disappointing Wyze product I've ever purchased

Not my experience at all. The newest generation has amazing *color* night vision. It's incredible what a camera this inexpensive can do.

Not everyone makes this assumption. I agree security holes isn't uncommon but it's very rare for a company to do NOTHING when they learn about it. Wyze did basically the least responsible thing you could do.

Yes and no. The security vulnerability required someone to be on your network, it was not exploitable externally. This really minimized the risk.

The issue they had is that the camera did not have enough memory to patch the security hole. So they could either keep it covert, given the limited risk, or they could tell the world about an unfixable problem and multiply the risk.

The only other option was to recall the cameras but I suspect that the cost of a recall could have been fatal to the company.

I'm not justifying their handling of it. Just providing some additional information for context. I think if they could have patched the security hole they would have, so they were stuck between a rock and a hard place with no great options.

I am a Wyze user myself but I'm far from their biggest fan.

Wow, the prices on these jumped from V1 to V2. Checked my order for the V1 Outdoor cams and paid $43 each for them, now they want $69.99 for the new version. Not sure if the added features are worth thr jump for me.

this is not true for this V2. the website says "Continuously record 28 days of video with Wyze microSD Card." I can't speak to your v1 camera but maybe your SD card isn't formatted yet so it isn't being used?

I have a v2 wired cam, and I have a timeline on my mobile app with SD card installed. I would imagine the Outdoor v2 works the same way if you have an SD card installed.

I don't have Cam Plus, so my 'events' that get triggered have a 5 min cool down period and are limited to 12 seconds. I believe CamPlus has unlimited length 'event' clips and back to back recordings without the 5 minute gap on any type of camera.
