This is because in NY you can apply for a 50% rebate on your state taxes for EV charging equipment (including installation and yes, the cabling too). You are eligible for more if your initial purchase $$ is higher as like with most rebates and deductions, they do not consider rebates.
Heres the tax info: https://www.tax.ny.gov/pit/credit...hicles
This means that the Juicebox would be $150 + tax on $650 - $350-ish tax credit = you make around $130?
Sadly, the 30% federal rebate is gone which had made this deal even more of a deal.

Wait a minute, the 30% federal rebate is gone already? Where did you hear that? I'm just getting one installed this year thinking that I'll get 30%
Edit: you're right, just found out the expiration was December 31 2021ā¦. Man that's a bummer

Plus it looks great and tidy instead of the mobile charger all over the floor.
I prefer paying $0.06/kwh for solar and wind generated electricity to power my EV and home rather than some higher rate to subsidize inflated equipment.

Anyone can have solar or wind, that has nothing to do with living in the south.
I'm just saying I wish we could get some incentives down hereā¦. Some states offer tax credits for EVs, for example.
