Amex Offers Spend $50 or more, get $25 back. Up to 3 times (total of $75). Google Fi - Mobile Phone Plan
YMMV- May be for select account.
OFFER TERMS
Enrollment limited. Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem. Only U.S.-issued American Express® Cards are eligible. Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. Offer valid for Google Fi purchases only. Valid online only at fi.google.com and app via Android devices only. Valid only on purchases made in US Dollars. Excludes all other Google products and services. Please note if you purchase a subscription, unless you notify the merchant that you want to pause, cancel, or that you do not want to auto renew, your subscription will automatically renew for another subscription period (subject to applicable law) of equal length (for example monthly, or annually). This means that the merchant will collect the then-applicable subscription fee and any taxes by charging a credit card the merchant has on record for you without notifying you, unless notification is required by applicable law. American Express identifies qualifying transactions based on information provided by the participating merchant. Offer is non-transferable. Limit of 3 statement credits (total of $75 back) per Card Member. You may not receive the statement credit if we receive inaccurate information or are otherwise unable to identify your purchase as qualifying for the offer. For example, you may not receive the statement credit if (a) the merchant uses a third-party to sell their products or services; or (b) the merchant uses a third-party to process or submit your transaction to us (e.g., using mobile or wireless card readers); or (c) you choose to make a purchase using a third-party payment account or make a purchase using a mobile or digital wallet. Purchases may fall outside of the offer period in some cases due to a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction (for example, the purchase date for online orders may be the shipping date). Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 9/2/2022, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items/services from your qualifying purchase have been shipped/provided by merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your purchase as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. Limit 1 enrolled Card per American Express Card online account. The enrolled Card account must be active, not past due, canceled, or have a returned payment outstanding to receive statement credits. Any benefit earned from this offer is in addition to the rewards (i.e. Membership Rewards or cash back) earned as part of your existing Card benefits, but your ability to earn spend-based rewards for the purchase will be based on the amount after any statement credit or other discount is applied. Amex Offers are dynamic and personalized, so the offers you see may change. For questions regarding your Card Account, please call the number on the back of your Card. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer. POID: K3HS:0001

Add 100+. Literally added 111 offers for Google Fi and Dell to FINALLY show up. I was never even aware of this "hack", I always just assumed if you look and it's not on there you weren't targeted, but sure enough, adding a ton of offers leaves room for new offers to appear. I just about gave up after adding 80, but tried over 100 and finally it appeared!!
To make an early payment:

Go to pay.google.com.
Click Subscriptions & services.
On your active Google Fi service, click Manage and then Pay early.

I just did it and have not received an Amex notification... though with these types of deals I typically do not. Can't say 100% sure if it works, I'll update if I see a credit.

I can't tell if the deal counts the service charge or just specifically ordering multiple phones... which I did a week ago before this offer Frown

Update:
Fi Prepay works perfectly, I was credited today. Incredible deal.
I had to add about 20 offers to finally see it. I'm not understanding why Amex can't fix this in 2022.

Is your purchase enough to get $75 credit? If yes, the offer is considered "redeemed" and removed from the Added To Card section. I've got only $25 credit (from a $50+ prepayment) so it's still in my Added To Card section until it's fully redeemed.

Same thing happened to me. The charge posted today (5/28) back dated to 5/26 (day payment was made). The offer no longer appears in the Added To Card section and not in the Savings section either. I will give it a few more days because maybe the system is updating. I did get a confirmation email yesterday morning saying I redeemed the offer so I'm hoping this is just a delay in updating the online account.
Disappeared on my account too. Charge posted the 24th. Chat rep said the offer is on my account and to wait a few days.

Update: Credit posted last night but backdated for the 26th.. Full $75.

I have the same update. It hasn't posted yet but under Savings in the Amex Offers section it now shows $75 saved for "Google Services".

I have several Amex cards in my family that had this offer. I used a total of 3 credit cards for 1 Google Fi account. I opened one line and purchased the Samsung S22 using 24 month financing. I then prepaid the account $150 for AmexCard#1, then another $150 for AmexCard#2. $75 credits for both AmexCard#1 and AmexCard#2 have either already posted or pending posting. AmexCard#3 was used to pay for the $26.62 taxes when I first placed the phone order and just the other day I prepaid another $23.38 on the same card to round up the charges to $50. I'm going to wait for the $25 credit for that card to post and then prepay another $100 again.

All prepayments showed up in the google fi account balance as expected and have already offset the outstanding bill on the account. I was also able to request to fully pay off the phone in the next bill. So I expect the $300 balance on the phone to be fully paid by the outstanding credit on the account when the next bill is generated.

My monthly phone bill is around $27/mo. Assuming I stick around for 5 full months (so I don't lose the $500 discount on the Galaxy S22), my total cost is ($27 monthly bill x 5) + ($27 in phone taxes) + ($300 cost of S22) = $462 reduced by $225 in Amex credits ($75 credits x 3) for a net cost of $237.

So for $237, I get an unlocked Galaxy S22 and 5 months of service. Great deal.

Mine posted as Google services 24May22. It says on statement as Google Fi. No credits back. No email confirmation. However shows under redeemed offers in the app so I'm hopeful.

Finally got posted Smilie Almost 2 weeks later after phone purchase.

Google Pay shows credit balance for Fi, but it doesn't reflect in Fi Billing section. I hope auto-pay doesn't trigger and end up with more credit.

I activated on 5/11, bill available on 5/13, to be autopaid on 5/24. I made a prepayment of $50+ on 5/14, giving me a credit of $24 in Google Pay. No autopayment was charged on 5/24.

The way I see it, Google Pay collects and doles out payments for various Google services (Google Fi, Google TV, Google Music, etc). When one of those services has a balance due, it checks with Google Pay to see if there's any credit to cover the balance due first. I could be wrong.

Thanks. That helps. I will know if it worked tomorrow. Got Moto G Power 2022, so already expecting $50 credit in another 45 days. So, don't want to add more.

That's good to know. I have this offer on another AU account and will try to prepay towards service as well.

1. On my Amex card, the $50+ prepay has a description of Google*Google Fi, with Google Services as the merchant (Google Services collects payments for many services) and the category is TELECOM SERVICE.
2. I used my Wells Fargo Active Cash VISA card for the phone purchase and trade-in credit. Since the card earns 2% regardless of categories, W.F. didn't break down the transactions by category.

See attachments below.
thanks much for your dp and attachments.

Some people mentioned that Fi purchases were being coded as "streaming", so they were getting 6% with a Blue Cash Preferred. Looks like that is not the case with your transaction.

Can anyone with a Blue Cash Preferred confirm if they are still getting 6% back on Fi purchases?
Where did you read the dp for Streaming getting triggered?
Is it in 2022? Can you share the link please?

See post #77 https://slickdeals.net/f/15763537-amex-offers-google-fi-mobile-phone-plan-spend-50-or-more-get-25-ba...

There's a Search function. Scroll back up where it shows the page numbers, click on View Forum Thread. On the next screen, there's a Search box on the right-hand side. Search for a keyword like "streaming". See attachments.

I've different experience:

1.May 8th google fi pre-pay $50
2.May 11 google fi pre-pay $100

3.May 21st credit posted only $50

Both 1 & 2 had same google fi as a service.
I did chat with Amex rep he refused to give credit for remaining $25 and explains the "$50+ only gets $25. so you have two transaction $50 or more so only $50 credit"

Any one has this kind of experience eventhough most of them are getting $75 credit for one single $150 payment

Even though people had been getting $75 credit with one purchase of $150+, I think that was a "generous" interpretation of the terms. The terms say "Details: Get a $25 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $50 in one or more purchases online at fi.google.com by 9/2/2022. Limit of 3 statement credits (total of $75)". Usually, that means any purchase of $50+ get $25 credit. You can use multiple smaller purchases totaling $50+ to get $25 credit. Not $25 credit for each $50 increment in a big purchase (up to $75 credit). Amex might have tightened up the interpretation of the terms.

Your rep misinformed you. In my experience, Amex customer support is very inconsistent, and they seem to have self-righteous staff that think they are always right. I've had some horrible experiences. With that said, I actually got a rep who knew how to read terms and conditions. My situation was very similar to yours. I first paid about $100 for the phone and got $50 credit posted in a matter of few days. I then made a prepay for $50 but never received the credit for it. The rep checked for me and told me that the transaction was eligible but that they were facing some kind of delay in the way credits were getting processed. I am attaching screenshots of his messages in case they can help you to set the record straight. If a rep gives you a hard time again, point out that the terms say in one more or more transactions. Which means that the requirement is the sum of money spent, not based on discrete purchases. Good luck!

P.S. I tried to upload screenshots, but I don't see an option to upload. Not sure if SD doesn't have this function or if my account somehow isn't allowed to do so, but here are direct quotes of what my rep said (his English was a bit off).
Quote :
Great news the charge is absolutely eligible we're facing a delay in issuing the credit you can expect the credit within 4-8 weeks.

I can see the charge is absolutely elgible and the maximum time frame is 90 days but credit usually gets posted within 14 days or even early than this.

I do not see any trigger so that the charge is not eligible, it is absolutely eligble.

You don't have to worry about the credit as we having facing a delay issuing the credit and this is a known issue.
