Thiese are primarily used for HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts). What do you think it should be made of for $25? These will stop just about anything except high powered projectiles that are made to pierce.

I don't think $25 for a polypropylene toy shield that's "about the size of a large dinner plate" and "1/2 inch thick" is a great deal when it probably costs 50¢ to make one in China (which is indeed where these are manufactured) and ship it over here.

This sounds like a typical comment you would hear from someone who has no training in any form or combat or defensive techniques. Well done.

These are extremely durable. Also, being made from a polymer means they can be reheated and molded if they are ever damaged.

These are designed for block and counter techniques. Probably not for nerds with think they're going to walk around with a shield made of dragon scales and rescue a princess so they can finally lose their virginity.

Half off retail. Approx 5-star average on reviews.

I can get a 12 inch cast iron skillet for $20

If you're doing reenactment why wouldn't you want to use the materials of the age? What do YOU think it should be made of?

How are your skills with a blow up doll? Quite refined I'm sure.

They're not necessarily used for reenactment. They can be used defensively in real life situations. If it gets scratch and scuffed, no prob. You just heat the surface and blend that part back in with the rest.

In a real combat situation, you can use these to block and attack against anything from a knife to a baseball bat, in which case you can block your opponent upward and strike low. Much harder to do that without a shield.

A shield used improperly can be used against you by someone using a shield correctly. Go out and get some training, then come back and talk to me. It might mean putting down your Thundercats action figures so you can become a man, but I'm sure you can figure it out with some help. Good luck.

lol what kind of real life situations are you running around using a tiny plastic shield for? Did you know a lot of people have guns in 2022? Don't practice too hard on obsolete/made up "combat" nerd shit.

Clicked because I quickly read title and thought it was steel.

No idea what I would have done with it either way.

Apparently also made to be thrown as an offensive weapon —like Odd Jobs hat (see the video) .
