Solid router. Only thing I didn't like was the plunge base wasn't super smooth.

Metabo is/was a German tool maker that is well regarded. Metabo HPT is the old Hitachi tools brand. They were purchased and renamed. Hitachi were always pretty sold mid grade tools and I believe that's still true of Metabo HPT. Note that for battery tools the two Metabo brands are not compatible

They're the newer name of the former Hitachi power tools brand. You can find them at practically every Lowes. Decently made stuff for the price, and an especially good value if you get it on a sale.

Just here to say that the Metabo HPT 36V tools are not mid grade at all. Direct competitors to Milwaukee M18 Fuel but with the ability to run off battery AND AC. IP56 rated on some tools. And most have a lifetime warranty.

I just returned mine from last deal, because I couldn't find the plunge base for sale, the $139 combo is not worth comparing to similar priced Bosch. A router without a plunge base will be a half-baked product.

Bought this router in a previous deal. Wanted one for my router table, so no need for the plunge version. Use my plunge one for projects that I don't use for my table. OP is solid and has enough power for all the projects I've done so far. Also, mine was both 1/4" and 1/2" which is a plus.

Have had this router for several years and it's been solid. Had the Bosch before, bought this on sale with the plunge, sold the Bosch.
