That sounds like a lot of work! And you have to use Facebook. No thanks.

Probably because it's a complete pain in the ass to meet someone to do the exchange for $10. Not sure what your time is worth

Do you know (or anyone else) what difference in the tools are? They have different model numbers but similar specs. oNly difference I can see is the flashlight output.
I did a quick comparison the only difference I was able to see is flashlight.

I'm not really sure why more people don't actually sell the pieces that they don't want on Marketplace, you make more money back than you do just by taking it back to the store for a prorated refund.
If you hold on to the batteries until after Ryobi day is over especially, you can easily get a hundred bucks for him making it a truly free tool if all you wanted was the tool.
Makertplace is pretty bad for selling. I've had items up for months for dirt cheap with no bites. I posted a brand new still in box Ridgid $220 table top tile saw for $150, two months ago, not one message about it. I lowered the price to $125, not one message. I've had new Octane batteries for 2/3 the prices they are selling on ebay for that took several weeks to sell.

For those who have the multi tool, do you get a lot of use out if it? Any specific situations where they were useful and other tools couldn't serve the purpose?
As some else mentioned, it is extremely useful to cut drywall, I used it to cut trim out for closet inserts, and then I use it the most to flush cut things. It is a very useful tool, my biggest gripe and the reason I didn't my use it more, is because you have to use a wrench to change blades. The HP multi tool is a tool free blade change and I wish I went that route. Then again if you don't care about that this version will work well for you.

Hedge Trimmer Bundle if you want
Anyone have experience with the hedge trimmer? Wondering if this whole deal is enough to hop on another battery train from Craftsman.

I got it and I kind of love it, it's holding section can be rotated (blade and holding section at different angles?). I dunno if it makes sense but it is very helpful.

The hedge trimmer is great. It way outperforms my Craftsman corded trimmer. I paid $78 for the tool alone from the blemish sale at direct tools.

At work and don't really have the time to post a new deal but the 4AH reconditioned Battery, Sprayer, and extra 1 Liter Tank can be had for sub $50 right now at Direct Tools Outlet.

Just posting in case anyone happens to want a sprayer (not available with this deal) and maybe another battery.

I haven't used mine much. But it worked great for cutting bolts that held my toilet together. There was so much corrosion from 3 decades in place that penetrating oil was going to take forever, and I was replacing all the hardware after replacing the wax seal anyway. Why not get the job done faster?

I also used it to plunge cut out a rotting window sill.

I got it during last summer's Ryobi deal. Used it to cut away drywall + plaster and lathe when demoing for my bathroom remodel. Also cutting pipe, smaller pieces of wood among other random tasks. For <$50, it's a handy tool to have around.
There is often a better tool for the job than an oscillating multi-tool - but they are still one of the most versatile, most useful tools a person can have. If you don't have one and you do any construction more than hanging a picture, then I'd definitely get one.
