You can get your military discount but you must look and find the battery kit with the tool you want and then add that kit.
I did this with the 2 4ah battery and the larger brushless kit too.

I already have 3 batteries. I just look for deals on tool only from the blemish sales, or else look locally for new or good condition Ryobo tool only deals. Craigslist and OfferUp are good places to find stuff. People are always trying to unload some tools they bought as a set, or no longer need.

Great battery offer, but in the St. Louis area, about a third of the free tools listed were available for me to select from. I still think this is a great offer all the same. Placed my order.
