I know its more expensive but also for overheating purposes I got the much larger housing of the Moto 8611. There is an Arris model with the exact same specs - the S33 but it its encased in a much smaller box and also had reported overheating issues. Been running the 8611 for well over a year or so now without issues.

Just got an email from Xfinity about a speed increase for my internet. Checked but saw no increase since last year. Got me interested in a new modem since my old Arris is for very low speed. The SB8200 appears to run hot. Some reviewer complained about Xfinity connection. No need for a new modem now but I will wait for a Motorola modem.

Good deal. Confirmed this works on Optimum in New York. But overall I prefer the S33, which also confirmed works on Optimum in New York. I got that one for about $168 late last year, looks like it's on sale for even less now.
To save some money when needing a Docsis 3.1 modem, I purchased a used one off Facebook marketplace. Purchased for half the new cost and factory reset it. Would recommend.

How is this compared to "NETGEAR Nighthawk CM1100 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem" that currently on sale on Costco for $150?
The CM1100 for $150 seems a bit high. You should be able to get the CM1100 for $100 or the CM1200 for $150. Both of these are quality cable modems and should work fine for your setup.

I was at Walmart and I saw 2 different DOCSIS 3 1 Cable Modems on clearance. 1 was about $75. if you're going to Walmart, check their clearance section. Unfortunately I didn't get the model numbers.

Last week I purchased the Arris SB8200 at $154 for my sister and it's working well so far on Xfinity. At this price, it's a nice deal.
