A key on my MX Keys broke. It costs $16 (including shipping) just to get a non-OEM replacement key (which may not even work as I'm not sure exactly what broke). My new criteria is that a keyboard should be easily repairable with reasonably-priced parts. I briefly considered the new MX Mechanical keyboard, but ruled it out because it's not easily repairable and use custom Logitech switches. I'd rather pay for a keyboard with hot-swappable switches that way I can easily repair a broken key.
Looks cool. You can also get a G915 "renewed" for less. Same concept with the low profile mechanical keys, but it has RGB and dedicated media, macro, and profile keys and a volume roller.
What are your thoughts so far? I absolutely love my MX Keys in every way...
At this point, I may try to sell my mouse and pay the difference to upgrade for the quiet clicks. But I am thinking of staying with the MX keys.
I have an MX Keys primarily because I can pair it with 3 devices. My work computer, my gaming computer, and my personal laptop when docked. It was an adjustment, but really I'm very fond of the MX Keys.
As soon as I saw the mechanical version available I ran up to Best Buy to grab one. I currently have them side by side on my desk and have been comparing, going back and forth. Honestly, for ergonomics and general comfort I am still leaning toward the membrane/flat MX Keys. It's entirely flat and that seems to be the best position for typing. It seems faster, to me. I got the quiet tactile MX Mechanical and it's a fine keyboard, but I'm not really seeing any benefit to it being mechanical vs. the already excellent MX Keys. I'm giving it another week or so to get used to it, but may return it.
I'm interested in learning why this mini is so expensive compared to others...what makes it so special?

I think the fact that it's wireless and low profile. There aren't many choices if those 2 things are a requirement for your keyboard.
I'd probably lean toward the hot swappable Keychron K7 for $85[amazon.com] so I'm not locked into a proprietary switch design. I've had a few Keychrons and have been happy with them.

thanks for providing such useful, real user experience. i just got the keys and a lot of the reviews ive seen were from people who actually came to this from a mechanical and being extremely happy. so I, being one of those who came to this from a mechanical, was wondering what the keys mechanical would be like - but why fix what isnt broken. pretty happy as is with my keys.
I jumped on the mechanical keyboard bandwagon a couple years ago, but then realized I didn't actually type faster and the noise really annoyed coworkers and my partner. So I switched to MX Keys and haven't looked back. Try MX Keys before buying this one, it's oddly satisfying to type on.
