I chatted with rep. and they told me the Promo Code P038 is good on my plan, but my account doesn't have required "segment code" attached, and they are working with rebates team on acquire the "segment code" for me.

I added an iPhone 3GS to see if it triggered the promo but under my account status it shows the iPhone as an iPhone XS. Is there anyway to get that fixed?

In the past I remember you get the promo text once the phone ships, at least with my last handful of EIP promos
This is also my experience for most of my trade-ins. But for my last trade-in in Jan, it took 5 days to get the promotion text after the phone was delivered.

This is a very stupid question but, what do they do with these devices that are being trade in?
With devices this old, they will not refurbish and resell, and probably just scrap. I can't imagine there being any parts worth retrieving from these old phones to recycle.

Up until 2 days ago, I saw the offer in my t-mobile account. But today, the offer for iPhone SE is gone. No more "$430 credit with trade-in of eligible device". Just "up to $400 with trade-in some expensive phone". Oh well...
Yes same here, I've seen the $430 trade in for last several days, but today it's gone. I always have iPhone 5s on my account for the whole time. Well I'm going to just leave the 5s on the account pass Jul 1.

Just a heads-up for those who bought or plan to buy one of the eligible iphones for trade in, some may need the old charger cable (30 pin), and a Micro sim card (or an udapter).

iphone 4 MicroSIM 30 pin charger
iPhone 4S MicroSIM 30 pin charger
iPhone 5 NanoSIM lightning
iPhone 5s NanoSIM lightning

I just received my ebay 5c today. Popped in sim card, and it showed up on their system. I tried the P038 promo with the tforce on Twitter, got told it's targeted and my account is not eligible. Ugh.

There is no difference, you are right. If I don't need to, I don't pay it off. But I've sold or traded phones so I paid them off. We also travel overseas, so some of them have been paid off to unlock so we can use a prepaid sim card.

that makes sense.

just making sure im not missing something special about paying it off early...

Try T mobile chat. "Worked" for me 5 hours ago, I mentioned the promo code P038. Cs said I am eligible. We will see if it will go smoothly or I need to fight later to get the credit

IP11 or IPSE 3rd gen?
old chip vs new chip
big screen vs small screen (smaller than mini)
70$ vs 0$
OS updates?

After much debating....going w IP11.
SE trade in values are historically poorer

Thanks for the post. As long as you have a qualifying device. Do the following

1. Login into your account
2. Goto shop
3. Choose iPhone SE (if it gives a popup, select add a new line/device option and not the upgrade device option
4. Follow through the steps. ( if you already have a phone with tmobile on that line, just select your phone line and instead if replace your current device select trade if a different device)
5. Sign EIP, review order and done.
6. Once you get the device you can then ship your trade in device.

Hope this helps.
Who told you to select "new device" instead of "upgrade"? I'm confused how adding the trade in later benefits you.

Thanks for this suggestion. I just got off of chat... It "worked" for me as well, after being told I'm not eligible by tforce via Twitter. Yay!

Yeah, pretty much guaranteed you're gonna have to fight for the promo, as outsourced reps are generally clueless and will promise the world even when you know you don't qualify. At least you'll have screenshots to submit for the eventual fcc complaint.

Not my experience, put through several orders via calling through to off shore reps promo appeared as it should, they know what they are doing, but you still have to ensure they notate the account or record just like with regular US reps...I however find the Phillippino reps more accommodating and generally more cheerful then US reps, both can screw it up just as bad as the other lol

Did they charge you the $35 assist fee?
