Anyone considering an LG fridge should read this carefully.

If you still want to buy an LG, be prepared to replace it within a few years.

Irrelevant to this deal - I got one of those 4-door fridges (french doors top and bottom) a couple of years ago and I can't go back.

I'm terribly unorganized and these bottom freezer drawers end up hiding a bunch of frozen foods that I forget about because it's hard to access them.

If anyone else has this problem, I highly recommend trying out the 4-door fridges (mine is Samsung).

I have had this unit for a year. Like it a lot.

The one ice maker is in the left hand door where the external ice/water dispenser is. It is " slim"
and there are still three shelves for condiments and the like. The main ice maker is in the bottom freezer.

I think you can turn off the ice maker in the freezer and then remove the tray and use the space but that would be for frozen food.

Double sliding freezer drawers are sub-optimal as well, mainly due to the smaller sliding drawer isn't very pragmatic (not tall enough to be versatile) and the bigger sliding drawer ends up hiding a bunch of frozen food over time.

I've literally had all kinds of fridges. If I were to rank them by my preference for pragmatic use (NOT for looks), they are:

  2. old school french door with freezer on one side and fridge on the other; very dated 1990s look but generally pragmatic
  3. top freezer / bottom fridge -- super dated but the regular non-sliding freezer door makes access easier
  4. top fridge / bottom double sliding freezer (see explanation above)
  5. top fridge / bottom sliding freezer -- the worst functioning fridge given the depth of freezer and sliding door makes access harder

You can't remove the one by the water dispenser. You can turn off the freezer one, but I would completely remove it as I over stuffed my freezer and food accidentally hit the ON button and that was a disaster lol. Turning it off is easy obviously but removing it might take 5-8 minutes.

As a former LG owner, I really cannot recommend any of their refrigerators. I had an LG Signature manufactured in May 2019 (purchased with new home). That fridge had a failure in the linear compressor in September 2021. It took more than a month for LG to get parts and schedule a tech for a compressor/sealed system replacement -- that finally happened November 2021.

The damn thing died late April 2022 and, after three troubleshooting visits by the retailer, it was determined that the compressor and sealed system failed AGAIN (verified with pressure gauges on the coolant lines).

The retailer finally swapped my fridge out (extended warranty claim) with a brand new Bosch 800 Series. Loving the simplicity and the dual compressors so far!

(Note: My LG's serial number did not fall within the class action lawsuit coverage. That likely means the linear compressor design still has issues fundamentally.)

You can?!? My mom has this fridge and isn't a huge fan of the ice bucket taking up space lol, it's all she talks about.

Got this same fridge over a year ago for the same price and love it! It replaced a Whirlpool model that we bought from Costco 2 months prior and did not like at all. The Costco warranty is a no-brainer and having two ice makers is boss. We go through a lot of ice in our house. Also, inevitably EVERY fridge will have ice maker issues. Unless they both fail, I'll still have ice until the other is fixed.

Got this when it was on sale last time.

- the drink section will NOT get to 37 temp (was told by the tech that it's a chiller but won't hit 37f)
- the filter has a bit of a weird taste.

Besides that, it's super quiet and spacious
