You are a life saver. Absolutely no brainer for a monitor this quality reduced from $1199 to $670
Awesome price. If anyone wants the G9 instead of the CRG9, it's $890, which is the cheapest it's been in a while. That one is 240Hz instead of 120, and 1000R curve instead of 1500R, meaning more of a curve
Comparison between CRG9 and G9 below. In case you are interested, I purchased a CRG9. My use case is 99% productivity, so it comes down to how aggressive of the curve that I prefer. Coming from a 3 x 27inch (2560x1440) setup, I think I will be fine with a CRG9 + a 27 inch (for sharing screen on zoom calls). I was also considering LG C2 42" OLED, I think I will stick with a traditional monitor for now for 1/2 the price of 42" OLED.
i would not recommend to get this for console use. there are better more cost effective monitor options. otherwise the better somewhat more expensive option would be a 48 inch lg c1 in terms of overall picture quality. the 32:9 aspect ratio would be useless for xbox. though i do have a xbox one x hooked up and you can stretch the image if you for some reason want to do that. it does support 4k60 hdr non vrr through the hdmi 2.0 port. hdr is kind of lacking due to edge lit va panel with minimal local dimming capability but sdr is good. i would only advise for pc usage in its native resolution. that is where it shines. otherwise you do have the option to do pbp mode with two separate 16:9 sources in sdr at 60hz.

Alright so a couple months ago I bought the G9 and CRG9.. I ended up returning the G9 because it had like 10-20 dead pixels scattered all over the place.
Basically buy at your own risk because Samsung doesn't care about quality control on these EXPENSIVE monitors.
Have you tried using it on Linux? Some reviewers mentioned sleep issues (have to toggle on button to make it wake up).
If you have used it on Linux, what software did you use for splitting the screen?
oddly enough i use both OSes, my work uses windows, which comes with nvidia desktop controller software that partitions the screens by resolution for me. For my personal set up, i have Pop OS on my Lenovo Thinkpad, which has probably the best window manager setup. The window manager uses VIM bindings for the directions, and makes it super easy to play with windows without using a mouse. I plug both of my laptops through a 2 way dual monitor KVM. So if i want to switch, i can just click the button on the kvm and everything just works seamlessly. Although i don't have a second monitor yet, its a good setup for most of work/school.
The only issues I have is with my laptop's BIOS, which has nothing to do with the monitor, basically it reboots into BIOS setup even when I want a normal reboot. My windows laptop doesn't have enough juice to drive the monitor either at full resolution.
I cannot seem to get the promo to work either. Before adding to cart I can see an adjusted price of $740.99 while logged into my edu account. However, after adding it to my cart it shows up as $935.99 during checkout and the promo is not valid.

To each their own, as the expression goes. Great deal, regardless!
It's for FPS gaming mostly. For productivity 2 32" 4k is better.

I already have two LG Ultrafine 27" 5K Displays for work/productivity. This will be for my Racing Sim where I have 3 24 inches.
Nice, looks like rak is only 3% CB now though, not 15% anymore
