Another $50 to pop in some ram and a big ssd, and you got a nice sub 900 laptop

A bigger ssd would be nice but 512 is usable

What does the above mean, and why is it considered bad?

This is nice, but I need at least a 3070 with 8GB VRAM & 12GB RAM & an i7. Add $200 to make it $1K & I'm in

In short, you should look for 130w-140w GPUs in laptops. You'll get far better performance, specially if you upgrade the memory. That and it has terrible cooling for a laptop that isn't being pushed hard

Oh, ok. Appreciate that, now is that something typically listed on the specs? I only ask bc I'm desperately trying to find a "good" "budget gaming" lap top and looking at a few currently but can't seem to find that info. Appreciate the help!

This can be very complicated, the folks over at https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/ regularly post laptop deals. Many times based on purpose and they'll have discussions over specs, which can help you learn.

As for your question, TGP aren't specs openly listed. You'll have to do a little research to find it. You should also google if that particular cpu throttles/ bottlenecks the gpu, to know exactly how much power you're getting a la:

Edit:
In case you're wondering what performance gaps you'll see, it's based on tasks or games. Search the GPU + TGP (CPU as well) on YouTube, you should get an exact idea on performance
