If you know someone that already has a ring protect plan, they can purchase this for you for an extra $33 off.

If they have their Amazon and Ring Protect account linked, Amazon will automatically provide the discount during checkout

Linking the accounts can be done using the Ring app under "Account Settings"

I wish they had deals on additional sensors only, what's the point of an additional base?
I think this one has one base only. You can't use 2 bases simultaneously. The other device is a range extender if you don't have enough WiFi coverage.

You can always purchase extra sensors separately.

Does replacing 1st gen with 2nd gen cause removal of my grandfathered $100 ring protect plus plan? (and cost me $200 per year from now on?)

No, it should not. Don't make the same mistake as me though, and cancel your plan. I was moving and had to turn off the plan on my old equipment for a couple of weeks. Bad move, as it took me off of the old, grandfathered plan. Just swap/add devices and you should be good.

I think I would have been screwed either way, as your Account/Plan is tied to an address/location, not the equipment.

Yup, what I meant is - I wish they had deals on individual/bundles of extra sensors. I've never seen one, only deals on the starter kit.

Your bet there is to find locals (FB Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp, etc.) to find spare sensors.

Looks like the only deals on doorbells are for the 2020, none for 3rd or 4th gen with removable battery. Is it really annoying to have to remove the 2020 to recharge it? (I'm in a rental without existing wiring so need battery.)

It is rather annoying. You have to be without the doorbell while you are charging it. I would always forget and wind up without it for a day or so. 🙄

Thanks, what I figured. Hopefully they'll put up some deals on newer doorbells on Prime Day.

I wish they have a upgrade program which you can return your old one for a little bit of discount.

Price of this can be better I guess. I bought exactly the same set exactly 2 years ago for exact same price from Amazon and still it's the same price? That too for an electronics?? This should be even cheaper!!!
