Does this do anything special a generic bt controler won't do?

I'm using 2 knock off ps4 controllers with Luna and it works great!

A bit late to reply, but it has a mic for Alexa. Plus it's like the Stadia controller where it can connect directly to the cloud via Wi-Fi. But unlike the former you can use Bluetooth to connect it to a PC or smartphone.
