Wrong.

Border size is 0.5 cm making it one of the best borders out there for this type of monitor. Granted it's a small size.

But other than the bottom chin it's a beautiful design.

https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/aoc/24g2

Shows pictures and measurements of the actual border.

Back on topic and thumbs up to the deal - this is a great monitor even if you don't play games. it can be used in a double or triple monitor setup for office work and financial work very well in portrait orientation which the stand supports.

The monitor is also IPS, has good reflection handling characteristics, gets fairly bright - all perfect for office work.

🥂 cheers!

"frameless" means it has a frame, but not as thick as the ones from 15 years ago, but still significantly chuckier than $200 HP monitors.

amazing monitor.. got it in 2019 for $165... would never pay that price in 2022 tho.. unless you need those exact specs.. imo.. this monitor should be $120-130

Hmm..this price point makes it tempting to add to my dual monitor set up for work and maybe one day some light gaming...the most recent mixed reviews are keeping me on the fence, though.

you sure you don't have the VA model?

The IPS at this price band is low imho.

24G2 is amazing if you are lucky to get a unit that's problem free. I gave up after trying 3 units one after another. I've seen dead and stuck pixels in all 3 units. Backlight bleeds and/or glowing were also shared by all 3 units. White uniformity in 1 unit was so bad that left half screen has a pinkish tint when displaying a white background.

Now the pro. Image is very live and bright thanks to its wide color gamut and high contrast IPS panels. 1500:1 contrast ratio measured by different reviewers (many brands can't even hit 1000:1 as they claim). Translate that into gaming, it is the best dark room monitor I have ever played on. In game such as The Division-1 with high contrast and night scenes. I could see little things other monitors fails to display. *Other displays include HP Omen 25i, Asus VG27AQ, LG 29um69g-b, and MSI Mag251RX which I use now. MSI seems to have better QC. My unit is dead pixel free with little light bleed that is acceptable as IPS monitor.

Now all the IPS monitors prices drops and I also feel 24in 1080p IPS should comes down to 120 level. I am open to market for new monitor but this is not so atractive deal.

they also stealth nerfed this panel after all the positive reviews were made. someone made a comparison and the new panel is still good, but not as good as the original from its first year of production or something like that.

AOC has her own monitor now? She's really branching out from politics.

I got one of these a couple years ago and loved it. The panel I received was flawless and looked fantastic. The only issue I had is that it would keep my video card from going into low power mode when running 144Hz. This impacted every system I tried it on (all with AMD cards). Dialing it back to 120Hz fixed the issue and still looked great. I ended up upgrading to a Gigabyte G27Q and, while I liked the extra size and resolution, the panel didn't look nearly as impressive. Also, that monitor had several other issues. If you're looking for a monitor in this class, I would not hesitate to recommend the AOC 24G2.
