I've had this phone since it was first released and never have I experienced any hardware issues. No overheating and no connectivity issues. Maybe there are others out that have had those, but the reviews I've seen since haven't brought them up.

It's a good flagship phone with an outstanding camera. This is a good price for what you would be getting.

That's not true in general and I'm not sure there are even a significant percentage of people who have these issues. There were reports of this early on but not much since then. It seems like it was either rare or fixed early or more likely both.

Also this phone has feature updates until October 2024 and security updates until October 2026. It could be longer, but that's more than 2 updates

Say what you want about the software/connectivity issues as that can be hit or miss, but theres no denying the fingerprint reader on this phone is trash, theres no review out there sining praises about it. It's slow, real slow for a modern in-screen reader. So keep that in mind before buying this phone.

Just not one of the ones that had all the problems people chirp about, went from a pixel 3 to a pixel 6 the day they came out, and couldn't be happier works great, takes great pictures, and came with a free pair of pixel buds when I bought it and fell in love with those things too. They would really have to screw up the Pixel line for me not to get another pixel in the future.

I'll deny it. Had a 6 Pro for a few weeks. I returned it because of a dispute over account rebate offer with Google Fi and went back to my 4 XL. During that time, the fingerprint reader failed once. Otherwise, it worked flawlessly - as good as my Pixel 3. Since the reader on the 6 Pro is under the front screen, I used my thumb instead of index finger. Trained it from multiple angles. Perhaps some of the issues are with how people train it. If you have problems with the reader, try re-training it and make sure you move your thumb/finger around so you're toward different edges of your finger/thumb. Both sides, top, toward the knuckle, etc.

Same here - only caveat I'd throw in is that the fingerprint scanner was problematic at launch and then improved but still is mediocre at best. That's the only downside I've experienced with the phone thus far.

I had the non-pro since a few months after launch (previous phone was a S9+). The two annoyances has been an android auto bug that causes GPS to stay on after disconnecting from car (fixed after a month) and the on-screen fingerpint reader (learned to live with). I would still recommend this over other android phones for the non-bloated, streamlined experience. Compared to a Galaxy phone, where the first thing I do is figure out how to disable unnecessary, redundant functionality, I didn't have to do this at all on this phone. Its camera is still among the best with Samsung and Apple.

Are you forced to use fingerprint unlock?

And if you're not, how responsive is it to unlock the screen (scroll up to enable code)

Bought 4 of these at launch returned 3 because of manufacturing issues. Was really excited for these but customer service and the divorces are so bad now I can't recommend this. I had bug the hell out of them to get help and I never got it from google. Luckily target is a great company and helped me get my money back for these. Watch and read some reviews online. You'll find that the majority have had a regrettable experience with these. I was once a part of the pixel superfans community and had owned pixels since the 2. Pixel community was no help either. They would just deny my request for help on the Facebook page and everything. Save the money or spend less and get something better.

One thing about pixels over other phones is live captioning during calls using Google live caption. This feature has been locked out for any other android phone. It does have an annoying announcement, a legal requirement for 50 state acceptability. But for a hearing impaired person this feature makes the pixel the ONLY choice. The third party captioning solutions are garbage.

You aren't forced to use the fingerprint. Scrolling up to use the pin is fine, but still faster to use fingerprint even with the slowness.

Thanks, I always wondered if "slow to unlock" affected non-fingerprint actions

Excellent deal and totally worth it TODAY. If you asked me prior to the June update I'd say try a different phone. This phone for sure had it's ups and DOWNS since release. June update fixed most.

I hate my 6pro. The first full on flagship I paid for. Bad battery life, red line randomly through screen, adaptive charging will allow it to die while on the charger. So many more fails. Hate it.
