Agreed... I always prefer to have a seperate modem and wireless router. My wireless router has it's own 4 ports to "hardwire" my TV's and desktop into.

Looks like this works with Xfinity. Anybody have experience with this + xfinity? I have a 600 MBPS line
Got this 7+ months ago and it works great with Xfinity. Stable and no issues

i would never buy a modem with built in router intentionally.

Agreed. I have my modem then firewall, core switches, distribution switches, access switches, and PoE wireless access points. Rock solid.
That said, I've had trouble with the motorolas randomly failing about 3-4 years in service. I have been buying nighthawks more recently.
I just upgraded my Xfinity line from 600 to 1.2. I was looking for a good gigabit modem that was compatible with Xfinity and wouldn't break the bank. I narrowed it down to this one and the Arris Surfboard S33. There were good and so-so reviews for both, but I selected the C33 mainly because they had one in Like New condition in the Amazon warehouse for $150. I am supposed to get it in a few days. This was before I saw the sale price on this MB8611 for new. I guess I'll wait to check out the S33 and see how that is before considering this one if it is still on sale. I suppose I should have waited for Prime Day...
Lots of good deals for the used ones on the FB marketplace. I saw a guy selling the exact one for 20 bucks. I already bought an equivalent netgear for 35 and looks new.

This is a great stable modem. I've been using it for more than a year without any issues. The bottom stand can be removed and the modem fits into a 1U rack if this is something you're interested in.

Was always a Netgear fan but would always find myself rebooting a few times a month. I thought it was normal. This thing has been flawless for almost a year now. I think I've rebooted 2x.. Great modem..

No built-in router? I'd consider this a HUGE plus!
Just upped my xfinity speed to 900Mbps would this give me the capable output of getting those speeds through Wi-Fi?
yes supports up to 2.5 gigabit ... I've had this modem for ~ 3mos with Xfinity 800mbps and Google Wifi routers, my router wired into the modem is able to pull 800mbps+ no issues, very stable
