I've been watching this, trying to decide to get this unit or one of those vacuum style/full sized carpet cleaners with a house attachment for spot cleaning. And second question do these work better for sucking up spills vs a shop vac?

Was waiting for it to drop to this. Saw it at $89 on last FP page and glad I waited. Don't think it'll go back to those $60 range for awhile, if ever.

I hate when companies dont do a price match during the return period.

It would save them money by not having a returned item and selling a new one at that price anyways.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

Love the machine (had one for years), but I hate that you cannot disassemble either of the tanks. If you have pets and it sucks up a lot of hair, things can get really gross, and you simply cannot clean it out well at all.

Hope you didn't open & operate it. If you're going through the hard time with a returning it this way, at least return the sale priced one with your initial receipt

How does this compared to using the hose tool of a large wet vacuum in cleaning power? For example, a Hoover pro clean? In the living room of the house we purchased last year, there are spots with stubborn smell on the thick carpet. I've vacuumed using the Hoover multiple times (not the hose tool yet), but not sure if it's getting any better… Driving me nuts. The carpets are supposedly 3 years old but previous owner had 2 large labs. Not urine, but the wet dog smell…

Depends on frequency. It's a pain in the ass using the full vacuum if you're having to clean every few days. If you're like me with a spill every 3-4 weeks, dealing with the large unit is OK. VS shop vac? This wins by design but the shop vac will have stronger overall suction... So, for simple water outside on concrete the shop vacuum wins. You're not going to want to use the shop vac to suck up a puddle of pee/vomit/etc.

It's usually spilled drinks or food that needs to be cleaned up and I end up bringing out the shop vac as I don't want to use my standard vacuum. I clean the spot but then I have to clean out the shop vac. Hmm so maybe getting this small one for now sounds good and then get a full size one for the occasional use later on. Thanks for the info
