I tried this monitor with a 14 inch Macbook pro m1 (with thunderbolt cable) and had no issues, I got the full 144Hz with no flickering, the usb passthrough and audio worked perfectly (the integrated DAC on this monitor isn't great though, I wouldn't recommend using it's audio output for music. The speakers on the other hand are some of the best I've heard on a monitor), scaling wise I didn't pay attention, I could send you pictures if you are really interested with this monitor (I would need to borrow my brother's mbp and he doesn't like that).

how's this compare to the Alienware 38" AW3821DW? Price is similar enough at the moment.

I was going to buy this monitor until I read about the screen flickering issues with the apple M1 chips

https://forums.macrumors.com/thre...g.2325279/

It doesn't sound like this monitor's resolution scales very well with an M1, either.
I have this monitor with my m1 pro, no flickering issue, i hook up through usbc

I prefer LG over Dell. I think there is a YouTube video comparing both

How fast is screen switching through the KVM?

Can you also link the KVM you are using? Right now, my cheap Samsung ultra wide feels like it takes a good 4-5 seconds between the KVM switch
I spent a lot of time finding one that would simulate input for the device thats not active at the moment. Landed on this Steetek HDMI KVM Switch https://a.co/d/9WYWIyk which worked well enough. Had some intermittent issues with windows, but switching tended to be fast. The usb devices were hit or miss and would sometimes disconnect and reconnect though. But out of the 4 or 5 i tried including a $200 startech one, this one worked the best

Actually curious what the advantages are with this? I have the monitor and I'm using the LG dual screen software KVM and is working okay.

To note, this is around the same price as the LG epp program for those who have access to it.

It lets you 1) switch inout devices without having to change which cable is plugged in and 2) more importantly eliminates the 4-6 second delay caused by the computer disconnecting and detecting the new display and shifting all the windows around . Might not sound like much but it really makes switching between multiple computers much more seamless

144Hz refresh rate should be enough for gaming if I'm not trying to be the best competitive gamer out there right? lol I'm looking to replace my now 7 years old Dell U3415W that has a great KVM feature that allows me to WFH and game.
144Hz refresh is more than enough for competitive gaming as well. If you are good you are good at lower refresh rates. You won't notice it above 144Hz in terms of competitiveness anyway. 60Hz yeah you might be at a slight disadvantage against same skill players.

This one has thunderbolt which makes it more suitable for office work as well. It's a nice Ballance between work and gaming while Alienware is more gaming oriented.

Ive owned this monitor for a little over a year. Its a fantastic monitor, but I did develop a stuck/dead pixel recently. My recommendation would be to buy the commercial version of the monitor if you can (38BN95-C). Its the same monitor, but comes with a much longer warranty. LG did make it easy to swap out my current panel with a replacement due to the dead pixel, but under the retail warranty (38WN95-C) I would have been outside the coverage period.

I got mine here:

Is there any way to prevent the windows all shifting around when I wake this monitor using my win10 work laptop? I use this monitor, and this is the #1 issue I have. That, and it sometimes takes a few seconds to wake. You sound like you might have some answers. Love everything else about this monitor, though.

Are you using display port? I have the same problem when I connect to my work laptop using DP. It's a Windows issue.
