If you get Wyze, DO NOT depend on its "smart" schedule. My grass is half dead because the sprinklers decided to not water during the hottest week here.

nope. it has a bluetooth mode if wifi is down you can connect to it with. If you can remember how when you go to need it. Stick with a local interface unit, i'm just telling you there are conveniences but there will be times when this bites you in the !@!@ and you're in a hurry and either the app acts up, your phone acts up, you can't find your phone or you don't have it on you or it needs updating,which is pretty much constant these days (although not this particular app as i don't think it's been updated in like 5 years) if however you're not a busy person and have time to f with that stufff....

Pick your poison.....more times than not i've found these worse than the issues with non smart (and yes i had this unit).

I've had the 12-zone outdoor B-Hyve for about 5 years now and it's worked pretty well except for the smart watering feature. I just program the zones manually like a traditional controller, except through my phone.

Really nice not having to keep running back and forth to the controller when doing sprinkler testing/maintenance.

You should be able to access it if your internet service is out, as long as your wireless router is still functional and it's on your home network.

Best part for me was that I actually netted $100 due to a utility rebate.

Yes it means the unit has to be either inside a water proof covering OR be mounted inside... say your garage. It's not safe to plant it outside as it can't stand water.. sun etc.

Hope this helps among the "good for nothing... smart ass answers" people put which shows they have nothing better to do.

Rachio 16 zone was the best deal yesterday. Even costco sells the 12 zone for 229 on sale. Heck of a deal. Hope most people got it if they have 12+ zones.

I've had one of these for a while, setting it up in the app was a slightly clunky, but definitely usable. Now that it's setup on smart mode I haven't touched it or thought about it in several months and my plants are still alive so it seems to work well.
