Hail Hydra.
This is crazy. Still waiting to replace my 1TB NVMe SSD I bought four years ago for $69. Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron stop colluding to milk the consumer at 1-2TB kkthx. We are ready to be cheated at 8-128TB.

Digitimes: Samsung new NAND flash capacity coming online in 2H21 may worsen price falls.

Everyone has been brainwashed to eat these high prices because xyz reasons. It's easier and cheaper to print ssd NAND memory than make a hard drive yet you don't see those staying stationary at 1-2TB for the past 4 years.
It's ridiculously easy on Android. You just need the right apps.

Look into setting up rsync or just use something like SanDisk Memory Share.

If your router can host a network share, you might not even need to use OTG. You could have it wirelessly sync your new pictures whenever you're at home.

Would a drive like this work as an external expansion for a PS4?
I got in on the 2TB T7 Shield for $120 deal, I hooked it up to a PS4 as an external drive, works fine.

Yes, but dont waste your money on an SSD for a PS4 external. You can find a bigger HDD for cheaper or same price.

Compared to the Amazon price glitch / match of Bestbuy recently, the 2tb was only $120 ish .... this 1tb seems like normal price?

Need to add deal alerts for portable SSDs with popular rating to get a future chance at that $130 for 2tb. The best but rare deals seem to be always happening at 5-6am PST, which expire right after. Like that deal from a week ago.

Stock up because memory chips are going to get a lot more scarce when China invades Taiwan…

True but if he's using his router then he'll be better off just getting a regular HDD with greater capacity since he's just backing up photos (I.e. small files that don't need gb/s write speed).
