No one can answer this without seeing you swing. It comes down to club head speed the slower it is the more flexible shaft you need. Pro's are in a stiff or extra stuff which are made for high club head speeds
What if I just wanted to get these extended as opposed to getting custom fit clubs?

That would be more than enough for now. If you're truly a beginner, a fitter won't even have enough of a swing to properly gauge anything with. Just get a half inch over standard and go back when your swing is at least repeatable.
Best bang for buck you can get, this is nothing more than a beginner set. The club make up is designed for beginners, anybody that is shooting bellow 90 would typical have a 3hy or 5w, 4-pw, and three wedges, along with driver and putter of course, definitely would never see a 5hy in an intermediate+ golfer's bag.
