Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

What are you all doing for the "If my phone's condition is different than above, accept its new value." thing? My 3a is in great condition (my current phone), but I'm wondering how much they could drop the value if they find a minor blemish or something they don't like.

If you can find one for a good price?
There a bunch of Pixel 3a on ebay that are going for around $80. Most are in "fair" condition, but that doesn't matter as long as the phone and screen work you get $300.

I can't see it becoming an issue. The low end estimate for the 3a is $295 right? ..and that's with cracked screen

Samsung Pay was awesome when the phones still had the MST feature. Not sure if its worth it otherwise though.

Bit the bullet last night. Traded in my pristine 3a which has been a great phone. I had gotten my 3a "free" from T-Mo several years ago after trading in my original Pixel and getting 24 month's of credits back from T-Mo. I had been hoping to trade it in for a "free" phone via T-Mo or Costco as they often do with "credits" and/or Costco shop cards...however, as they say, "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush". Should get the full $300 and I used Discover via Paypal for 5%. Now watch as the next deal will come from Costco!
Got my 10% in Google store credit and may use it towards a case and screen protector and/or photo books. I am already on the 2TB storage plan anyway.
Did same and extra 2% with cash back site. But sad to loose unlimited photo storage comes with 3a xl. I may have to backup my photos near future.

The hilarious thing to me is when this deal first started you could get a fully working Pixel 3A for under $80 that was unlocked in good condition. I watched over the past 2 days the market for Pixel 3A phones. Almost all of the working phones under $100 are sold out. People are so desperate for this trade in deal people are buying the awful half broken Pixel 3A phones, hoping that they don't revise the trade-in amount (I bet they do for a bunch of these cracked phones).

The desperation is so real that a working phone that is in an auction ending tomorrow is already up to $120. LOL, People selling their Pixel 3As probably have no idea what's going on. I'm surprised they aren't jacking up their prices yet.

This was obviously the best phone deal of the entire year. All the smart people figured that out when they did the Math. Getting a brand new phone for under $200. Stupid easy.
And yet we have so many idiots on SD thinking this is a bait & switch deal lol

If I'm going for the trade-in for Pixel 3a, should I just answer "No" to "Is the phone free of cracks and does the screen work properly?" even though the phone looks OK, just in case they reduce the estimate significantly? The screen does work and is not cracked (maybe a few scratches on the sides), but since the difference between "Yes" and "No is $5 ($300 vs. $295) maybe it's a good idea not to risk it.

Took the plunge and I am trading in a 4a 5G in hope that I can trade in the 6a for a better deal in 2 to 3 years.

For those interested, I've have a Spigen case on my Pixel 4a 5G and this is the Spigen case I am going to get for the 6a:

I also recommend a screen protector of some sort and from what I read the tempered glass is the way to go. I used a tempered glass on my Pixel 4a 5G and it definitely saved my screen from cracking several times. I'll have to test out the touch sensitivity with this screen protector to ensure the fingerprint screen unlock works well, but this is the screen protector I am trying:
