Pixel 6 owner here. I word of warning.
the reviews stating the slow finger print reader is concerning.
If i can go back in time, I would not buy the pixel 6 because the fingerprint reader is embarrassingly slow and misreads if you change lighting conditions. It's simply awful and makes checking the phone a chore. I hate it. No screen protector issue, not my phone (it was exchanged), and it's a common complaint. If you are coming from a phone that had even an average sensor, this will annoy you to no end.

The Google Tensor chips have such unreliable and poor mobile connections that a significant number of users have to reboot regularly or toggle airplane mode on/off just to get data working. It always happens when i drive. Check reddits pixel subs for more info. It doesn't look like any of those issues will be fixed because they simply aren't fixed in the flagships.
It seems to be an issue when you transition towers, so if you travel a lot or travel through dead zones, it'll happen more frequently. An unacceptable problem most in-studio reviews don't address, but real-world users struggle with, and have been since launch.

warning: This kind of trade in deal came around 1.5 yrs ago for 4a 5g. The say they will respect trade in value if old phone is received within a month of you receiving the new phone. But then they delayed the return pkg . And instead of giving $285 trade in value they gave $15. Everyone had to fight with customer care to get back the money. And they have terrible customer care.

Several reviews of the final product are indicating it's pretty similar to the 6 and 6 Pro. Some early stories and very early (unofficial) hands on videos said it was a faster sensor, but many of the reviews coming out today of the production model ay it's similar in speed. Maybe a hair faster here and there, but not so much as to make a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.

Yo this fingerprint scanner is infuriating!!! Any tips on how to improve it?

I've watched some videos saying that this has older April patch and should get an update soon or something? I hope this is true. I miss my 4a.
Multiple fingerprint of the same finger, I heard registering it at least once in a dark room also helps.

For those who did the 10% back in Google Store credit through Google One, can you downgrade to the $2/month plan after the first month and still get the 10%, or do you need to be on the $10 plan for the second month as well?

Need to be on at least the 2TB plan ($9.99) to get the %10 discount otherwise you won't get it.

Thanks - u may well be right. I live in the boonies and Verizon has best signal (2 bars on a good day) - ATT weaker - Tmob and Sprint - weakest Smilie So wifi calling a MUST.
You should try switching to Visible wireless which is owned by Verizon but make sure you get a physical SIM (their eSIM is nothing but problems). They are currently supporting WiFi calling for the Pixel 6A (it seems like they'll always support it for the new phones/get it provisioned quickly as opposed to TracFone). I remember hating TracFone (Verizon) for how long it took to get WiFi calling support for my Pixel 4A. If you join via a party it's only $25 a month. It looks like new customer / first month is $25 right now, they always have promotions but that's what I found from a quick look.

Contact support, curious what they recommend. I've read some comments about the camera crashing (nothing about having to restart the phone though). It doesn't seem widespread. Could uninstall and reinstall the camera app. I wonder if this is already addressed in the day one update or in the upcoming August update.
I don't really want to waste my time trying to contact support at this point... I'll just see if anyone else reports anything similar and see if the latest updates resolve instability issues... I think the updates almost always claim to improve stability. Fortunately this has only happened once so far <knock-on-wood>.

Saw a Twitter post from a 9to5Google editor that said the first update should be widely available Monday. *fingers crossed*

I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed using the Pixel buds today. They sound good and they are so comfortable and stable. I think they are even more comfortable and stable than my Samsung Galaxy Buds+ and JBL Live 300tws which both of them are very comfortable and stable. They fit really awesome to working out in the gym.

How do we get our Trade-in kit? The original order email showed it as shipment "2 of 2" on the order, and now when I look at my order, there is no sign of the trade-in kit.

Has anyone received their trade-in kit?
Check your email. They sent the tracking # for your trade-in package. I got my phone yesterday and my trade-in package comes on August 1st.

I just realized that we aren't getting much for this since we have to pay two month. Not sure how wiki got $50 (Verizon model??), but I got $44 with 10%. Spend two month $9.99 and it comes out to $24 in store credit.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm getting $4 extra from spending $20...not really worth it.

Great.... let is know in a few days if you run into any of the issues people keep mentioning.
Will do. Sorry about your issues. I'm testing the fingerprint now because of the drama around it.

Random charge for about $107 from google.

Nothing new shows in the google store other than the 6a + buds.

Read about others getting a refund for the buds then getting actually charged. Is this some kind of messed up reverse situation of that? Hopefully it reverses in a day or so, otherwise IDK. Dispute it? How can they mess this up so badly.

Check if you got refund in the same amount after purchase of the phone and buds package because Google reversed the charge afterwards again to be charged back to CC.

Mine showed a negative, then a positive charge for the Buds. Not sure why they would do that, but at least I didn't get charged for them.

I got my phone way earlier than it showed on the website. Tested the buds and they are definitely better than galaxy buds+. Phone got hot while transferring the data and that is expected. It doesn't have any lag so far. Looks like battery is draining quickly. I changed preferred network to 4g to see if it matters. I love my pixel 3a. New phone feels premium and photos took especially portraits took less time to process. Tbh, fetching 300 for 3a got me into this. I'm not sure if I would buy this one at 450 outright though. May be after upgrade thoughts may change. But as of now, for under 200 with buds, I'm ok with this. Btw, last November bought one plus 8 for 200 for my parents and tested that. Really loved that!
