Looks like PayPal online purchases could be excluded.

As long as it is used on an online store it will work. Many examples have already been provided as evidence.

My Blue Cash Preferred has it. From the "Rewards & Benefits" section of my account:

"Extended Warranty
Can extend the Original Manufacturer's Warranty for up to one extra year for Covered Purchases made on your Eligible Card."

Edit for the full text:

"When an American Express® Card Member charges a Covered Purchase with his or her Eligible Card, Extended Warranty♦ can provide up to one extra year added to the Original Manufacturer's Warranty. Applies to warranties of 5 years or less. Coverage is up to the actual amount charged to your Card for the item up to a maximum of $10,000; not to exceed $50,000 per Card Member account per calendar year. Please read important exclusions and restrictions."

I have the BCP but forgot about the $6k limit. If I use it for groceries after I've hit the max for the year, I'm losing out at 1% vs what I could get with another card. I've gotta track that better.

And with the preferred, you pay $100 fee to earn $360. I'm rethinking that.

Preferred is a no brainier IMO. If you buy $250 of groceries a month, you offset the entire annual fee. Any more than that (which is almost everyone) and you make money off it.

At some point the hassle of juggling cards and remembering which cards to use for what and which to pay off each month becomes not worth the hassle. I feel like I am doing more work than the rewards are paying me for.
Which card to use - sure

Which to pay off...er, all of them?

BoA cash rewards 5.25% cashback for the category in your choice if you are enrolled free premium rewards honor member.
same cash rewards card has Visa and MasterCard, you can have both to cover two categories.
Online shopping category (not so limited as Amex) includes many in store purchase such as Samsclub/Walmart "Scan to go" or e-wallet payment

I have found that BofA is terrible at properly categorizing purchases as "online purchases" and then you don't get the bonus CB. I've called them about this and they blame the merchant. It's a gamble.

Call the number on your card and see if they will try to retain you. Say you are thinking about cancelling and they will send you to retentions. If you aren't satisfied with their offer just product change down to the Blue Cash Everyday which has no annual fee and get these benefits.

Not the person you were asking but I too have the Amex Plat & Gold. For me the Gold is my main grocery and dining card. I wish it counted international grocery and had one or two more core travel benefits but oh well.

The two $10 per month credits [americanexpress.com] are relatively easy to make use of, but it might not be for everyone. For me I have a Cheesecake factory about 10 minutes away, so that's an easy $10 value each month. On top of all the various perks from the Platinum I always end up making more than the combined $945 annual fees each year.

Edit:

Can you clarify more about how you utilize the platinum? (I too have bcp&platinum but not utilizing much)

Just look up all the benefits and cater to your needs by what's offered.

I always pay off my cards. I meant it can be a chore remembering which ones have a balance. Did I use cards X, Y and Z this month? Guess I better log in to 12 different sites and see if I own anything.

Also a bit difficult to monitor spending when it is spread across so many cards.
