Basically saves the step of buying Amazon GCs at the grocery store. I wonder what they were thinking with this though. Seems like it will cannibalize users from BCP. I would definitely downgrade if I hadn't jumped on an upgrade offer a few months ago.
Why would BCP people switch? BCP is 6% groceries and you can downgrade and reupgrade yearly to avoid AF. I've done it 4 years in a row now.
There are other no AF cards that offer more than 3% on the other categories.
Amex is such a BS credit card company. I filed ch 7 in 2008 on them and they still Hold me to it and deny based on their black list. I have perfect credit scores now as well.

If you haven't caught up with the debt you owed to them, then it is understandable on their end. If you, however, completed the repayments, then you can reach out to them for reconsideration of taking you out from their list.
I have this card, it's nice but I wish I noticed the exclusions on 'supermarket' (you have to click on a separate page for them):
Basic Card Members will earn a reward of 3% cash back on the first $6,000 of eligible purchases across the Card Account in a calendar year (then 1%) at supermarkets located in the U.S. (superstores, convenience stores, warehouse clubs, and meal-kit delivery services are not considered supermarkets); 3% cash back on the first of $6,000 of U.S. online retail purchases across the Card Account (then 1%), 3% cash back on the first $6,000 of purchases of gasoline at gas stations located in the U.S across the Card Account (then 1%), (superstores, supermarkets and warehouse clubs that sell gasoline are not considered gas stations); and 1% on all other eligible purchases.
Thanks for the refresher.
I've had this card for a few years and I think at the beginning it was giving me the 3% at Costco and BJ's for gas then I noticed it stopped 😑

Same. I stopped using this card for anything other than AmEx offers but now this out competes Citi's 2% on everything.
The $6,000 cap isn't great though, I spend more than that over the year which makes me think it may average out at 2% anyways.

I don't see any 3% on any of their cards.
They really parted ways with Costco. Not even once they mention it anywhere (not that it's required)
Yes it does
It's really random on which stores give you the 3% back but of course they don't mention that anywhere.
