You were right, I had to redeem the Gold codes first then join up with Ultimate again for $15 but then it gave me the option to convert my gold sub to Ultimate so I'm good for the next 3 years for about $65 all told. Thanks a lot!

Correct, and just make sure to follow steps to get free month with each 3 month pass either by going through ops code entering link or by adjusting recurring billing, although some mention YMMV so be aware of that. But yes, upgrade to GPU as last step.

Not sure what you mean by "one transaction", but you need to redeem them one at a time. Microsoft doesn't allow you to redeem multiple codes at a time.

The most important part is that you need to redeem all the XBL Gold codes BEFORE signing up for Game Pass Ultimate. Signing up for GPU is the last step.

I think its note worthy to put in notes that 8x3months+ the free months is the max months months you can have, so binging more codes doesnt benefit the buyer. I didnt know this and ended up purchasing more than 8 only to find out that 8 x3 months was the max i could do.

You can use one code after 50 days.
Each code can extend your Game Pass Ultimate membership by 50 days. Maximum membership you can have is 3 Years (36 Month)

I'm finally doing this after putting it off for a year. I bought all 8 codes but the recurring off and on is making the fraud protection go haywire at my bank (USAA). Kind of a nightmare redeeming these today

Leave recurring billing on, you should still get 1 month extra.

I know this is likely a stupid question, but if I have an active subscription for GPU, and I just disable auto monthly renewal, do I need to wait until the actual time left on this last month is up before trying this, or can I do it now?

When I go to check the price without purchasing, my options are "Manage Subscription", and "Extend Subscription $14.99/mo". I almost assume I need to wait until this subscription is over and done, and then try this?

You have to wait for your GPU subscription to expire. 1:1 time conversion works on only new or expired accounts.

I found a work around for my situation, I went through paypal for the recurring billing and it's fine now. Can I add a 9th 3 month code to get the max 36 months? I know the $1.00 month of ultimate will be wasted as only 36 months max are converted.
