  • Carries up to five bikes including Mountain Bikes, in a pickup truck
  • Made of soft flannelette to protect the tailgate from scratches, which is thick and will not damage the paint of the truck
  • A rugged nylon strap will allow you to secure the pad and allow to the transport of bikes securely
  • The outer layer is made of PVC laminated cloth, wear-resistant, rainproof, durable, and moisture-proof to protect the exterior of the truck tailgate
  • Clips to allow you to roll up the flap and allows access to the tailgate handle while the pad is attached and access for backup camera

It's a great price, but considering the cost of my bikes and of my truck, I think I'll spend a bit more to get something that is designed better. The Race Face T2 is much more expensive, but seems to have better hold down features.

If I'm only transporting one bike, is there a good reason to buy this? I just toss it in the bed, making sure the chain side is facing up.

I've never seen anyone transport their bike like this. That being said, thankfully it's by the Walmart company and not Thule or Trek or something. Then it would be a $400 product.

Really? Thule makes a pretty popular one, plus there are tons of generics. It makes sense any time you have more than one bike and don't want to stack them in the bed. Plus they can be used with most trailers as long as the bike wheel doesn't extend too far (the 29er cult might be disappointed! /s)

Sorry I meant if this was Thule brand, it could be a lot more expensive. This seems reasonable. I'm considering one for another application. I've never seen bikes over the back of a truck, didn't know it was so popular but if it works and saves space inside for coolers or something then that's a win!
