Good deals and way better/faster/cheaper than 3050 or 2060. Nvidia suck at prices reducing comparing to AMD. Just like how EVGA promoting back to schools sale, but not real reduction in pricing at all. Sight!!!
Still too high. Manufacturers are beginning to sweat, but if we wait they will cave. DO NOT BUY YET!
If your budget is $600-750 then this is your best option new. The current price to performance on the Radeon RX 66/67/68/6900 (xt) line up is currently great all around.

6700 XT 12gb $430.00 ($850 budget)
6700 10gb $370
6600 XT 8gb $310
6600 8gb $260 ($600 budget)

If you have a $1150 budget then I would either pick up a RX 6900 XT for $700 or wait to see if you can find a 3080 for $700. If I'm reading the tea leaves right you will find GPU cards on sale in the next 6 months.

EDIT: If you live near a microcenter, you can find a $170 motherboard/CPU combo kit (b450 pcie 3.0 but slightly slower from 4.0 but great reviewed mobo) and Ryzen 5600 (equivalent to I5-12 gen which is popular deal on SD for $147). If you pair this $170 mobo+$260 GPU +$200 case/psu/ram/512gb m.2

You're getting current gen performance for $630.00

Personally I would not spend $260 on a 1080p card. If I'm gaming at 1080p I'd budget $200 max for a card.

You can get a used 2070 super for around $300. And it's capable of high fps at 1440p.

But if you have to have new this isn't bad at all.

ROFL. who the hell user userbench for GPU. It's already bad enough for CPU. Did you just google 1070 vs 6600, pick the first result and just come to this conclusion like a newb. 6600 is def faster than 1070 in actual games.
You're right about this. the 1070 is not as powerful as the 6600 and that's not taking anything away from the 1070, it is a very good card. I'm running a 6600 with my i3-12100F and it's besting my sons Ryzen 7 2700 and 1070 with a lot less heat and power.

Some people said Nvidia's idle power consumption is lower than AMD, is it still true? Or AMD new drivers out now drastically lowered their power consumption too?

I own both the 6600XT (not the 6600 though) and 3060Ti which are basically the same tier. The 6600XT only pulls 6W idle while the 3060Ti pulls 22W in the exact same setting.

I like that the 3060Ti has better RT but honestly turn it off in most games in favor of FPS anyway.

FYI, it is slower than 1070, a 6 year old mainstream card.

remember what CPU was released 6 years ago? intel 6800K, AMD A10-8770. i wonder could you even find any processor today cost 200 dollars that performs less than those find in 2016?
No, it is not. The RX6600 is 35-40% faster than a GTX1070 in real world games according to Techpowerup benchmarks: https://www.techpowerup.com/revie...le/31.html

The GTX1070 performs roughly the same as a 1660 Ti, and the RX6600 is about 35%+ faster thab the 1660 Ti.

Stop using gpu.userbenchmark - that website is a joke and doesnt portray real world performance.

Thanks for the inform! Some people said the reverse in other threads (Nvidia cards draw lower idle), I guess it's not necessarily true. I'll probably go for AMD because now their price is more competitive too.

1070 ti is still a beast for her age, playing with the card and fsr(Quality Mode) in 2022 is a testament to why Nvidia remains the leader and also the current state of affairs in the GPU market.

How's this compared to rtx 3060? I just got that one and wondering if I should return and buy this and save about $160ish?

Only reason I didn't go with amd earlier was because I don't know the powercolor or asrock brands as well as I do nvidia and most amd cards I see are those brands.

It is slightly slower than the RTX3060. Like 4% slower.

This card consumes 3w at idle. The 3050, which is quite a bit slower, consumes 7w. There will be some variance depending on if the board partner tweaked the BIOS but overall you are looking at less than half the idle power consumption with the 6600.

Graphics card noob here. Besides $6ish, what is the difference between this ASRock card and the following MSI card:

Just different AMD partners making their versions of the same card. Often some cards have slightly better thermal and/or noise performance than other models but generally all cards using the same GPU will perform roughly the same.
