My open box excellent - certified arrived today.

Looked gross, it was "cleaned" but basically streaked all over the screen and had residue or dust all over. Then there was a large separation of the case on the bottom corner underneath, where it was cracked through a screwhole.

How did that pass inspection let alone "certification." The box was beat and it only included the charger, no other "accessories" or manuals or anything.

Buyer beware, it's returnable but it can be a waste of time. I'm more inclined to get the non-certified open box so they dont try to "clean" it.

Open boxes are so hit and miss. I bought one that was listed in satisfactory condition and it looked brand new. I've bought one a long while ago in "excellent" condition and it looked used like someone smeared grease on it

Good price. I am just telling you my experience. I purchased this last month and returned it at 13 days because it kept locking up while gaming without a cooling pad underneath it. It's a very fast and powerful machine but the trade off on lockups and battery life were my reason for returning. I needed a device that could work without a cooling pad just in case while travelling. You're welcome to ask questions of my experience and I will do my best to answer them.

Thanks for the heads up! I reckon fans must be inadequate despite otherwise solid-looking heat pipes. Speaking of thermals, have you found most exhaust air coming out of side vents, at the back (facing display) or roughly 50/50?

I wish it were routed from the sides primarily to save the display itself on M16 (or prevent chin separation separation from display assembly in G15), but only time may tell I guess.

I would say it was 50/50. I replaced it with the smaller g14 and it is also about 50/50.

My excellent certified came today and it was practically new. Battery report shows 2 cycles. Ran TimeSpy on it and it was about to take off. I forgot how loud these things are. I think it's going back to Best Buy.
