I have this exact machine and can't recommend it enough. I don't game so can't speak to that (I read it gets hot but nothing intolerable).
For everything else, it's an absolute steal. The size is super small and efficient.
I have to pinch myself at how much power is packed for the package. USB-C charging makes it easy to transport and charge when on the move.

Can compile code and do music/video editing with ease!

Asus armory app allows for the laptop to switch to Intel GPU automatically (no restart required) when on battery or just wanting to run quiet.
The screen is close or at 500nits which makes it really nice for full day light environments.

I'm absolutely in love with this machine as it really strikes a perfect balance of size/performance and just sleek badass experience!

Enjoy peeps!

You can get it "Open Box - Excellent" for another $150 less. $1450 is very tempting.

It says 120w for the video card. Is that low for a laptop or what is to be expected in a 3070?

Probably the only laptop in 2022 that is comparable to the L5P.
But at 1500$, it still still a bit too expensive given the current market conditions.

are these durable? I've had many 3-4 asus laptops in the past and they've all died within a year or so

I had this model but the backlight bleed was so terrible I had to return it. Was a decent performer otherwise.

Bought open box back in Dec for about the same price. So far so good! It is a little loud when you play game, but that is expected. Other than that, it run very quiet and cool.

That looked good on the specs but the reviews make me want to run... 1/3 basically said it was DOA or died within about a week. Even the 4 star reviews mention it wasn't as great as they expected. But man the specs listed and the price seem like a good deal.... but, I am going to pass on that one and run away. (I don't really care about ROG branding but, I don't want MAINGEAR.. I have never heard of them before.)
