I bought this same model on BF as open box excellent for $1200 except mine was i7 not i9 and my SSD is 512gb not 1TB. One con is that if you buy open box your manufacturer warranty runs from the date that the person who returned it bought it (that might not apply if he/she did not register it.) So my warranty started in August even though I bought this in late November. A huge pro is the second M2 SSD slot. I filled over 400 gb of the 512gb main SSD with just 4 or 5 games and their launching platforms but it is simple to install the second SSD. A third point is that the laptop comes with a resolution of 1920x 1080 even though it is advertised as 2560x1600. If you call Asus they will tell you that the lower resolution is required by Windows 11 due to 16" screen size and Windows won't let you set it higher — which is true —but you can change it to 2560x1600 in the Nvidia graphics software.

Best laptop for 2022 and 2023 if you're into productivity first and gaming second imo.
I review and play with multiple laptops and this build is the best bang for the money in this price range.

The newer models are too expensive and/or have little to no objective improvements (13900h/4070) for the price hike.

I believe the value of laptops will be in 2024 but not 2023.

Even the Asus g18 went from $1999 to $2299 on Asus website which was the most accessible one.

I bought the same too. Except it was a Lenovo and was a Ryzen 9 with 32GB of RAM.

(On a side note....this is a nice spec'd looking laptop - especially if 'open box' has a full warranty and there's time to put it through multiple stress tests to evaluate if the original return was not due to 'issues'.)

As noted in my comment —open box does not have full manufacturer warranty. At least for Asus that company has officially told me my warranty started in August when the item was first purchased even though I bought it open box in the last week of November, however, Best Buy assures me there is a one year warranty so maybe BB will fix any issue within one year (if they can) even if Asus will not reimburse them.

I just want to make a comment for anyone considering this deal, Zephyrus M16 (i9 + 3070ti).

Unlike the i7 version, I can confirm this deal IS a 2560x1600 screen without any additional steps.

Working on one of these right now. Great machine, decently quiet for productivity. Only downside is my eyes have gotten used to the latest generation 500 nit screens. This one is good quality, but 300 nits, so just wish it was a little brighter. Otherwise a great package for the money.

What kind of BS is this? I seriously doubt Windows limits your resolution based on screen size...
