I bought this last summer and ended up returning it because anytime I used dedicated gpu, it crashed. I am only telling you this to make sure you do the research and find out if this issue has been fixed. It just seemed like the system was getting too hot and protecting itself. I've learned a lot since then, because I ended up getting the g14, I am sure there are ways to fix the issue yourself even.
When I purchased it last summer, the price was above 2k, so this seems like a good deal.
Had this too. Its a good laptop, thin and light, but its not really configured for gaming in mind IMHO. 120w gpu and 1440p resolution struggle to keep up fps. Ended up getting x15 r2 alienware open box. It has a 140w gpu, and 1080p screen and outputs decent FPS.
If you want to game at 1440p at high FPS, you need a more powerful GPU. Granted, you can run 1080p res on this too, but running non-native res makes things look fuzzy

Different laptop, but I had a Lenovo Legion with the same screen specs (resolution and refresh rate) and a 3070 ti, and it played games on ultra settings no problem. I'm talking about new AAA games like Atomic Heart.
Sounds like maybe your specific machine had something wrong with it.

The legion has a 150w gpu, this is 120w, the legion boost clocks are higher, it has better cooling and can maintain the boost as lower temps. The m16 is very light and thin, and has problems maintaining a high boost.
Btw, tried atomic heart, great gameplay, but couldnt stand the constant banter. . It put bioshock infinite to shame in that department lol
