I have the phone and it's great, no issues whatsoever with fingerprint scanner.

Cannot recommend at this price with a broken fingerprint scanner (which unlocks with unregistered fingerprints) and no wireless charging. If I'm nice I'd say it's worth $300 with the flaws it has... it's really too bad as it could have been a great mid-range phone.... but it's not a slickdeal at $400.

Plus it once suddenly powered off on me when I was trying to use the camera (and it wasn't a heat issue)... it only happened once but it shows they are still getting the bugs and kinks out.

But other than the above mentioned issues, it has been working well.
Interesting my Motorola powers off when I use camera. Happens too often

I bought the 6 pro on launch and went through the same type of issues. Google is not the only ones to beta test on paying customers.

Well don't count on that fingerprint sensor to keep all the non-registered fingerprints out. Maybe the 5a and previous Pixels spoiled me with their super-fast and accurate fingerprint sensor and the 5a's excellent battery life (I've found the 6a's battery life to be good but not excellent like the 5a).
My wife has the 5a's fraternal twin, the 4a 5g, and that phone certainly has good battery owing to its mid-range SOC. She ended up keeping it and giving me the 6a.

I dont think they did that bad a job on the fingerprint scanner...I was specifically afraid of this because a part of my thumb was cut off a few years ago and scarred over.

The scanner on the iPhone 7 and up always hated my thumb as a result as well as the one on the Moto g5s and a bunch of others where they use your thumb on the front versus your index finger on the back.

No issues here. The fingerprint issue you are referring to seems to be isolated, the majority of users do not have the issue.
