This is why I downvoted. OP needs to add that you have to activate it today on a carrier or you cannot get the $299 price. It's a great deal if you are ready to activate though.

It's a waste of time trying to educate a 10. Another 10 will just post it again every week. A 10 doesn't seem to ever grasp the concept of best buy and the way they advertise activation pricing.

I'm confused. I currently have Verizon and would be using this phone as my device. Can I buy it all right in cash for $300 and then activate it as soon as I get it? Just making sure that's how it works

Assuming you have a line that is eligible for upgrade (not on a bill credits or payment plan), yes.
