Phones are easily lost or stolen. If you don't care about all the personal data in your phone being compromised, no worries.
Currently 8 months into my 6a, couple of issues, fingerprint reader is crap, less than 50% accuracy, phone gets hot easily and will throttle, battery life is only enough to last through half the day if you travel on the road alot
Nearly everybody should absolutely have a lock of some kind, as phones can be lost or stolen. Considering the fact that having someone's phone often gives you access to bank accounts, credit accounts and identity, pretty much everything you have from house title to retirement savings to car is potentially at risk. Even if you don't have bank apps, having your phone number gives them an easy pass to get around 2FA, which coupled with a little more information (possible gleaned from your phone) might be enough to still get access to bank accounts, etc.

Good, and well placed (like the old pixel where it's on the back) fingerprint readers are much faster. If I pull my phone out of my pocket it's on and unlocked by the time my eyes see it. Very convenient.

Have read sd comments for a few years how great Pixel phones are but the 4.3 rating is not impressive for a $350 phone?

Fingerprint reader is literally the only issue. Much less of an issue (if one at all) if you don't use a screen protector but its not great with one on it, requires multiple prints to get it to an acceptable state.

Other than that it's probably the best sub $350 phone out there. Great price here if you need an unlocked phone but can be frustrating with a screen protector.

Improved, but it will never be fully fixed. If you use a screen protector you will still likely have some read errors and have to scan multiple times

decent phone. not fond of the fact that it doesn't have wireless charging considering all my Samsung phone have had it since like 5+ years ago. wish it was cheaper, i'd get replacement for my wife's broken screen ...

I have never ran into this issue with Pixel phones. With or without screen protection

why do people use fingerprint readers, weird to me. mostly you dont need any lock on your phone since it doesnt leave your person. but if you do just use 4 digit pin at least as fast as print and more secure
