This kills the phone for me:
"Unfortunately Motorola ships the Edge with a lot of crapware: Facebook, TikTok, and surprisingly for an unlocked device, software from Verizon. Much of this cannot be removed and even has infinite access to your device and its data, such as the unremovable "Facebook App Installer" that lets Facebook install whatever it wants, any time, on your device. That plus the Chinese TikTok dubiousware make trusting your Moto Edge with personal information a big ask. Even Verizon has a footprint on this supposedly unlocked device with apps like "Verizon App Manager" among many others."
I'm on mobile, it's easier if you just search here on Slickdeals for "flip3" for those two Slickdeals threads.
The faster and current gen Moto Edge+ 2022 is or was on sale for $500. Got a friend of mine to purchase that as well.
No need to buy this phone ppl

Just trust me. Edge+ 2022 was the best phone I've ever own, and I upgrade twice a year. Its camera isn't anything to write home about, but man that phone is smooth and lightning fast. I have a large collection and experience with a lot of Android, and a little iPhone.
If you actually need one of gimmicky stuff other phones have, then you have to decide for yourself. S22U really sucks, but I have unbelievable photos of my 1.5 year old running around the sprinklers. 10x zoom FTW.

That's why I think the edge + would be good to use, because I don't have a problem with decently spec'ed moto phones.
I really just don't like the direction new phones are taking (cheap moto phones are catering to 3rd world, Samsung is sacrificing useful features and battery life for top dollar, and everyone else is a buggy mess)

I also think flip feature is quite gimmicky (unnecessary step to flip open the phone every time I want to use my phone) and it is definitely more prone for screen breaking/hinge issues. If I were to choose a Samsung flagship deal, I would consider the Google Fi Samsung Galaxy S22/S22+ at $300/$400 plus the Google Fi fees and the 3 months requirements. I still think that is too much for my basic use. I don't do heavy gaming so I don't need the latest greatest battery draining powerful processor. Midrange phones cameras are quite good nowadays too.
