A cutaway on the body makes it easier to play in the higher neck register and allows it to shine as a solo instrument. The lubricated, 15:1 ratio, sealed-gear tuners ensure the instrument is easy to tune so players can focus on the sheer joy of playing. Our modern design headstock is not only stylish, but has a straighter string pull, making it easy to keep the instrument in tune. The spruce top, mahogany back and sides, comfortable C-shaped neck, and Techwood fingerboard add up to a full sounding instrument that is a pleasure to play. A lightweight open pore finish on the natural wood feels good to the touch and allows the guitar to resonate freely, resulting in a great tone. Quality material, an industry standard X-braced top, and thoughtful design make for a b |

I'm not a skilled player, but I enjoy putting some chords together. Plus I have a really smart 4 1/2 year old who is showing interest. This will help me get them started with some lessons.

I bought this the last time it was on sale, a week or two ago. I've been playing for 25 years and I have a few guitars that are in the $900+ range, but I wanted something cheap that I can let friends borrow or just bring on car trips without having to worry if it gets beat up. With that said, it sounds really good. It's super loud and has a nice bright sound. Also, as far as acoustics go, it's easy to play, because the action is low (the strings are close to the neck, so you don't have to press too hard). I do like this color more than the sunburst one that I got. I'm just gonna do the Tom DeLonge (Blink-182 guitarist) thing though, and spray paint it and burn it a little. You should be happy with this guitar. Your kid should like it, too. Here's a video review from a highly respected guitarist. https://youtu.be/NzkMOTb7Tr8
As a fellow guitar guy, that guitar sounds amazing for sub $200. I don't play these days but I went through 12 or so guitars. This reply says all you need to know.

But for $89 ... whadda ya expecting, ya know?
But you wouldn't buy a set of speakers without actually HEARING what they sound like, right?
With an electric guitar ... you can run it through a tube pre-amp plug it in a Marshall add echo and reverb and on and on and on ..
An acoustic guitar ..
Yeah, ya kinda gotta hear it.
Know what I mean?
Just as a rule what I have found in life.
This is also super subjective and variable, as even small things like a difference in humidity will change how acoustics sound over time.
You might bring it home and have a completely different sounding guitar. Sometimes, it's just a matter of going with your gut and budget.
Luckily, a lot of the sound can be influenced by the strings. An under $20 mod and your cheap guitar can sound completely different.
