Be aware the last the activate now options may also incur a BS activation fee from the carrier later on. I've got Verizon and you used to be able to get around it by re-using your current SIM but it seems they caught on because the process has changed to them now scanning a new SIM at the time of activation, which triggers the fee.
With my second phone the activation now was an upgrade on my wife's line, who was not with me. Her phone stopped working because the process activated a new SIM and we had to place that SIM into her current / old phone to get her back up and running again. On my last trip I pointed out how inconvenient that was and asked if they could not scan a new SIM and the guy said 'sure' and said there was an option to continue using the same SIM. There was no service interruption with that and it remains to be seen if that could skirt around the activation fee.
Also, I left the store every time with the new phone sealed in the box. Make sure you specify that if you're choosing the activate now option as some employees don't know how or didn't know that you could do that and will open the phone during the sale.

I still haven't picked up my flip4 preorder that I traded in flip for $300 GC + $500 Sammy coupon for. . .and wanting to switch my TIV credits towards purchase of S21FE etc. instead. Store MGR. is willing but unable to figure it out. . .he's even called me the last two days after checking with his tech geeks for possibilities. So I know he's on board if I can give him the solution.
Thanks if you can help! I've seen some people trying to revive cancelled orders before refund status (so as to basically exchange for same model phone) mentioned here, but not so much in regards to switching phone model purchased in the end. . .
They have to do this before processing as a refund. Once a refund is processed, nothing can be done for the coupon.
