Edit - I think we can all agree that Costco has a great return policy (but to be fair, so does Woot), but if you're interested in a review where the Max G30LP received the top recommendation, here's a recent NYT's Wirecutter review from Dec 2021:

I merely told antlive111 that the return experience may not be as rosy as he claims. He said "Costco let's you return anything pretty much". That is not always the case - even when you are being reasonable and within their policy. Not sure what was the point of your snide response.
Sounds like you took my sharing my experience personally for some reason.
Wut??
Where the hell did I say that I returned a computer "YEARS later"??
I specifically wrote that all my returns were within a 2-months window which is less than 90 days in their policy:
And go easy on the condescending tone while you are at it--for your own sake.
I returned 1 laptop in 2007 (15 years ago) due to built-in SD card reader issues (it was dead) and 2 after that (also various issues out of the box). Upon 3rd return, it triggered a spiel from the store manager "if our laptops don't work for you, maybe you should consider buying elsewhere". It happened recently. Telling him that the first return happened during the Bush administration and it's unreasonable to not expect some returns over DECADES did nothing to him.
So, apparently returning 1 piece of electronics once in a 5-year period on average despite those pieces having issues is a no-no.
All 3 returns were within reasonable period of time from purchase date (~2 months).
Apart from those 3 computers I had no returns for any items whatsoever with them EVER.
Costco is not what it used to be. Maybe it was just my store being shitty, but I would say thread with caution.
We frequently buy multiple products (various sizes, similar but different items, etc.) and return what we don't use. Despite the frequent returns, we've never been questioned for them.
The rep was courteous, but it was a shock to me that they wouldn't take them back. FWIW, the batteries had been in a drawer in my home office desk the whole time, so it's not like I left them outside to freeze in the winter…
Edit: I should also say that I think a one year return window for AA batteries is reasonable. It's not Costco's fault if 16 month old batteries explode in an unopened package. I was just shocked because Costco has never pushed back on anything I returned previously.

Sucks about the battery situation, though. That would peeve me a little.
