Seriously, Seagates have been around for a very long time. Both WD and Seagates make sturdy and reliable stuff. They are the Hondas and Toyotas of the computer world. That being said, I think this is a good deal every which way.

If you buy one..you have to buy two in case the first one fails. No fun trying to recover 14tb again. Easier to copy off another emergency drive.

It's not that any drive can't fail, but in the 25 years I've been putting PCs together, never had more problems than with Seagate.

Stick to SSDs for boot drive and anything else requiring speed.

We (my employer) use seagate sas drives for our servers, and they seem to have a higher than normal failure rate.. HGST is the answer for enterprise drives.
I've got used ebay HGST drives dated 2012 in my 2nd home server and I bought them almost 5 years ago, and they're STILL chugging along healthy and happy. between both servers I have 16 HGST sas drives and zero failures.
