I personally think $50 more for a 3070 vs 3060 is worth it alone (unless laptop screen size and/or storage capacity matters more to you).

Nostril Webcam and a big bottom screen bezel. I wish they went with 16:10 and make the screen bigger or at least move the screen down and put the webcam on the top of the monitor.

I'm considering the Costco deal for the MSI GE76 that goes live on 8/31 for $1199.99 over this but I'm curious about people's thoughts.

It looks like the differences are:
Costco/MSI | Best Buy/Gigabyte
17.3" screen | 15.6" screen
RTX 3060 | RTX 3070
1TB SSD | 512GB SSD
$1199.99 | $1249.99

This is the Costco laptop in question:
https://www.costco.com/msi-ge76-r...49691.html

And this is the link to the Costco ad that shows it going on sale 8/31 (see page 4 at the top).

Just think Intel and nvidia is a far superior system. I don't like amd, I appreciate competition, but I'd pay extra for the others

I don't understand why gaming laptops still come with 16bg ram, especially at this price.

Because the RAM is easily upgradable and 16GB are enough for the vast majority of games. This is not a workstation, but a mid-range gaming laptop...

it's upgradable in this model but other more expensive and in same price range also come with 16. i read in near future 16 won't be enough. i don't want a gaming laptop today i want slim light but if in the future i decide to connect external gpu i'll want to game and do other intensive things. with less than 16gb available in soldered ram models i don't know if it'll be enough for what i'll want to do. also 4k video editing.

I have the gigabyte 3060 variant and love the laptop, yes the web is placed poorly. But in my case I wouldn't be using it anyway. Also don't expect to use the on board microphone, cause it's in the same place as the webcam, right over the exhaust vents. So it sounds (to others) like you're in wind turbine. But everything else to me is great. Decent battery life for browsing and light work. Would recommend

I got mine already after ordering it in backordered status. Very happy with it. 1TB SSD is a nice upgrade, 512 is just not enough.

Edit: The 1TB variant (backordered) with the older gen CPU and 240hz screen is now $1,499 not $1,200... so never mind!

Great, this is how screwed up Best Buy is. When things are backordered, you actuall receive it, but when it's not backordered, no dice.

I had that 3060 laptop ge76, and it was running same speeds as other laptops 3070's I assume due to thermal efficiency. I was very happy with it. But returned it as buyers remorse $$$

I wonder if this will drop below 1199
