These are not brushless, but for a drill and an impact driver, with 2 two amp batteries, a charger, and a lifetime warranty, I'm not sure you can do any better - especially if you're only looking for a homeowner kit or you just want a spare.

Home Depot has apparently added this kit to it's subcompact bogo deal. If you add the circular saw as your free gift, then the price of this kit breaks down to $67.09.

Thank you for your feedback and suggestion.
You could also try a right angle adapter, see how often you use it, and then buy the actual powertool. I've gotten by with one of these for a few years. They do run slickdeals at Ace and HD a few times a year on the dewalt ones.

FYI, the lifetime warranty on Rigid tools is extended to batteries that come with it too. So be sure you register for it (registration has to be done within X days after purchase
I just exercised that warranty on an old 18 v battery. Home Depot sent me two new, smaller, lighter, higher output batteries and a charger. Very happy.
I reversed this deal by keeping the circular saw and returning the drills, batteries and charger. The new circular saw seems great. Very light, but still powerful.
FYI, the return was no problem. If Home Depot didn't want us to be able to do this, they would not make it so easy. Home Depot is clearing out Ridgid tools at incredible prices. I was very tempted to go with the brushless version of this deal. My 18 volt ridgid drill is just fine, but the new brushless ones are much small and lighter. $90 for the drill, impact driver, 2 batteries and a charger is killer.

Back when CD-ROM was still a thing, I bought a multimedia kit from Walmart with CD-ROM and couple CDs. When I opened, it was a sewing book. Walmart didn't bother check their returns, good thing I was able to return it and explain it wasn't me did the switch.

Now a days when u return any electronics (shrink wrapped and sealed) to Best Buy even Costco, they insist on opening it and even check serial numbers.

Few bad apples always ruin it for all.

I think that person must have deleted there post cuz of how foolish it was. This is not return fraud. Return fraud is when you buy a lego, open it up and loot everything inside, replace with fake chinese bricks or even dirt if ur lazy, return box, get refund, and someone else gets screwed.

Yeah, Ridgids great warranties aline almost made me pick it as my tool system. Went with DeWalt in the end though, as I've gotten more tool deals for them and they have more tools in their systems, including Flexvolt lines

Yup, what needs to happen is that they come up with a fool proof box that shows if it has been tampered with. Opening a return that is sealed and hasn't been tampered is literally destroying value

This brushless set is not the same though, isn't this current thread for ones that have higher torque and hammer drill features
EDIT: I'm wrong. The new brushless set is same features, but brushless is much much better (I have that set and love it)
yea shouldnt this be a no brainer then?

I am not a very handy person and looking for a decent tool set to keep in the house. Would we recommend this or the other Riyobi one that is on sale from Home depot?

also for anovice user would the brushless add so much more value - worth the $30 extra?

Probably so, but I'd think it depends how much you use them. In this case, I'd probably pay the $30.

Here is is good explanation on the difference:

I have brushless myself but if you're not going to do a lot with them there's no reason to waste money on brushless. Essentially nobody used brushless for decades and decades and everything got done fine. You'll never have a problem from your tools being brushed unless you use them a farkton.

Also whether you get this or Ryobi sort of depends how many other tools you're getting. Ridgid is a clear step above Ryobi in quality - and you get the lifetime warranty with it (if you register in time). That includes battery replacements...which you'll need 10 or 20 years from now. But if you're getting a bunch of tools for whatever reason (but you still don't plan to do a ton with them), then Ryobi has a huge selection of perfectly ok cheap tools and aside from some yard tools mostly all use the same batteries. So then it would make some sense to get into that battery ecosystem.

How incredibly naïve. I suppose that because they could run their stores like a prison commissary and choose not to that means they are also cool with it if I stuff a candy bar in my pocket and walk out the door too. They may be choosing to allow it to happen but that is not the same.
Home depot will still make a ton of money for selling these at the "hack" price.

They used to be $75 just a month ago.
This or the Metabo deal? Anyone? Not really knowledgeable into these things.

Home Depot has had these hacks for years, if they had an issue with it then they would have put it to an end years ago. Continue your ignorance though
often or not the returned items are on the clearance aisle for a better deal, pretty sure I've gotten 2x 3mah octane and charger for like $70

One is a drill and the other is an impact driver.
Drill = drill holes, drive some screws
Impact Driver = only for driving screws, even tough jobs

If you have both tools, you can get work done quickly on big jobs.
First drill a pilot hole, then drive a long screw in, and repeat.
