Dont forget, some synology cases max out at 16gb max per drive. check your NAS prior to purchase.

If your Synology NAS model has a CPU architecture of 32-bit (x86), you can create a volume of up to 16 TB.

If your Synology NAS model has a CPU architecture of 64-bit (x64), you can create a volume of up to 108 TB

If you want to learn about cashback and maybe monitor which sites offer what % of cashback there is a site that takes all of the various sites that offer cashback and will monitor all of them for you all in one place. To find it, I would google the words cashback and monitor.

$16.67/Tb for the math challenged. Not really within the $14-15 per Tb "deal range" that most people expect but this is for a Red Pro so that might be worth the extra cheddar on a huge drive.

I'm guessing for HTPC, the red plus is better since it's not as loud?

I have these (18TB Red Pros) in external enclosures and you really don't hear them at all. Now the Gold series are a bit loud. I have one of the Gold 16TB drives in my desktop, and you can definitely hear it when it's reading or writing.

Buy it straight from WD for the same price. You don't worry about newegg dropping and breaking them then not honoring their own return policy. F$+&& newegg.
