Good set up. We got three for prime day at $135 each. Even the one that only has 2ish hours of direct sunlight is still keeping its charge up but we don't use the spotlight.

Two huge details I missed before buying though, none of the solocams support homekit. These only have 8GBs of internal storage. No sdcard, network, or cloud storage options like on the other eufy cams I have. You have to use the eufy app.

Don't buy Eufy if you can help it. My floodlight 2K is giving me connection issues after only 9 months. After sending them numerous photos/videos showing my troubleshooting, following their suggestions, etc.,they are hesitate to replace it. I'm still in endless emails with their customer rep.

Example: Upon showing the rep video of my router and Ring doorbell working just fine, he/she asked if "my router is on" and "check for power outage". I'm just baffled.

They don't intend to add support. They say this to lure buyers that are on the fence.

Don't buy something with the hope that it will be added later. There is no financial incentive for that to occur.

I'd like to be able to view multiple cameras at a time, but that's a pipe dream.

How does storage work? Does SoloCam S40 support HomeBase2? Can I use cloud storage or NAS/RTSP?

SoloCam S40 is a standalone battery camera, and all videos can be stored locally on the camera. HomeBase2 and NAS/RTSP are not currently supported, but there will be a supported version in the future.
They have been saying this for soooo long.

Also, as someone pointed out in a previous thread, with the cam and solar panel integrated, if one goes bad, you have to get a whole new set-up, whereas if you buy them individually, it's much less to replace if one goes bad. Only a 1 year warranty for all Eufy security products.

Coupon only good for 1 cam.

Agreed. Eufy has made similar promises in the past, and they haven't come through. Their customer support is (from my experiences) extremely poor. This company just isn't what it once was and it didn't take long for it to get there.

Can't I get open source software to store the images long term on my NAS? Is the android apps that will allow me to view all cameras together live?

I just installed this setup last week and have nothing but praise. Good wifi, recharging, etc... Time will tell if it can survive a NC winter but for now it is flawless.

FIngers crossed

Here is a link to a video of our groundhog/hedgehog (not sure what it is) taken from my S40 today. It was installed last week.

Thanks, looks good! Got one for back yard intention as well. Love how this is totally wireless, maybe a disassembly with some camo spray paint job could one up this thing further, then one day forget all about it, lost on a tree lol!

I second this. Their products are great when you install, but run into connectivity issues and other issues. I had them send me 2 doorbell cameras after mine crapped out after 9 months. Each only lasted a couple of months, and then eventually I was out of the 12 month warranty of my original purchase and they wouldn't send me a 4th one, but rather asked that I purchase the 4th one with a 30% off coupon. Also can take weeks to hear back from them.

Did they ask for you to ship their product back? I had the same issue but was out of warranty. They gave me 30% off... I'm like why the F would i buy another one when the one I bought became defective. only used it for a few months but I didn't install it like 10 months after I bought it so the warranty expired. Disappointed in them but I have six other EUFY cameras so I didn't want to switch to a different system. I wish they stood behind their products longer... especially when the doorbell not being able to connect is a common issue it seems.
