Anecdote: I bought my first one 26 months ago and it still works fine. I'm in Colorado (just outside Denver). We don't always have clear skies here and I'm surprised how well the solar panel actually works to keep it going year-round.

The solar panel is finally starting to show some wear, so I'm not sure how much longer it'll last. I imagine that charging performance will just drop off over time. At the prices they're going for though, if you can get a few years out of one before having to replace it then I think it's still a good deal. Would be nice if I could just replace the solar panel when the time comes though.

I had two. One that was always at a angle never ran out of solar. The one that laid flat always ran out. Both had similar views.

Note that without home base when the camera goes off line ( or is stolen ) you won't have any cloud access without subscription to see what happened before it shut down as the video is all stored in the camera itself. Mine show 7Gb of local storage.

I use mine with a gutter mount (not designed for this camera, but still holds up). Was worried about leaving it out during hurricanes, but somehow has held up fine. Not sure if rust will eventually mess with the the gutter mount, but it's been over a year and no issues so far.
