These are flashlights, only needs to be recharged occasionally. Who cares what the charging port is? Most people have tons of micro-usb cables around, no big deal to plug it in every few weeks or months to charge it.
For something that needs charging daily like phones / tablets / PCs, having USB-c is vital for fast charging and data transfer. For a cheap flashlight, who cares.
